If You Can't Say Anything Nice......
I've seen, read, & yes been part of many threads that take on a negative tone in regards to our beloved MINIS & more to the point I've read some visitors who have written that if our MINIS are so problem plagued, they were going to rethink before buying one. So here & now from this place forward let's use this thread to make only positive statements, such as my MINI is great, Best car I've ever owned, Got in my MINI this morning it was 30 below & she started right up. Let's share & celebrate all the good times we have being a select group of people.....
or not........
or not........
My 2 cents.
It's OK to be honest about our Minis, whether it's good or bad. All cars are gonna have problems. If this forums helps us to share or avoid or fix some of them, then so be it. If that turns off some new owner, then that's OK too. (they were probably gonna be non-waivers anyway
)
But the negative attitudes and comments about each other are sooooo unnecessay. I would love to see the disappear.

Buying my MINI was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
I drove my 04 330 convertible today for the first time in months after spending the rest of my motoring time in my MCS. Can't say I've really missed the 330. I'm lucky enough to have 4 cars to choose from, but the cheapest car in my stable (MCS) is the most fun and exciting to drive. Always leaves a smile on my face and disappointment when I arrive at work wishing I could continue motoring.

I can attest to the 30 MINIs that survived the drive back from Lassen Volcanic Park to Redding CA on Sunday June 25. The temperatures hit 119F along the way. After this, I know the MINIs can handle anything. The run was 1100 miles total and about 40 participated at one time or another during the run. Aside from a flat tire (hitting a rock) and "bagging a deer" (no serious damage) on highway 89, these little cars held up GREAT.
Great thread, Yumhaggis.
I was just thinking of posting how much I love my MCS and this thread shows up, good on ya, mate! I've owned about 15 new cars in my lifetime and Simon is the only one that truly makes me happy, in fact after going through so many new cars in my life, the Mini is the only one I'd consider buying again. An absolutely wonderful mix of sporty, fun and style. Nice job, Alec Issigonis and BMW.
Hey folks,
As I've mentioned in another post, I've had the opportunity to own/lease quite an array of vehicles, usually sports cars. Loved my '03 MCS and just replaced it with an '06 JCW MCS.
Prior to driving MINIs, I have NEVER replaced an old car with one of the same. My "old" Mini sat on the dealership lot for a whopping 3 days before it was snapped up. I hope the buyer is local so I can catch an occasional glimpse of my "Ex"
That wasn't too negative, was it?

Most of the posters on this site are already MINI owners, and I think that most of what's posted here does reflect well on our MINIs and the joys of owning a MINI. And the numbers reflect that -- we get lots of new members each day, owner and shoppers alike, but the would-be buyers who have a change of heart after reading about some of the problems reported here are pretty rare.
Besides, I really want to know about those MINI quirks weren't mentioned in the sales pitch or in those cute MINI ad campaigns.
Like spontaneous combustion, for example.
Or did I miss the "Let's have a weenie roast" campaign?

You know what have grown to love about this car is the looks and the pointing of the fingers this car gets, and not just from a specific group of people like a lot of cars but from all groups...young and old. It's so funny seeing an older lady actually get really excited about a car and then pull on her husband saying "that's a MINI Cooper." It just can make your day. People who decide not to buy a MINI based on some problems it has obviously don't care enough about the happiness it brings people. I would almost prescribe it as a prescrption for depression...LOL

I found the thread. Thanks!
This is by far the BEST car I have ever owned. I have never smiled soooo much!!
I feel like I am in a parade every day. Loads of thumbs up from people I see. My MINI always gathers a crowd. People always have a smile and something GOOD to say.
This is the first time in many years my wife says "pass'em honey!!!", and she means it!!
Thank GOD they make MINIs for us older Kids. Keeps me young!!!
