R50/53 The "My MINI has Never Been Through an Automatic Car Wash" Club
Car never has (at 1700 miles) gone through an automatic car wash and never will. It's those do it yourself spray places with the brush that has the soap that comes out of it for me. I love taking the time to clean my car...and it's only $5 to get a thorough wash.
Well, of course, my new GP 0102 has never been through a wash, even after 2,700 miles and counting. It will only be hand washed, it's already been washed probably 6 or 7 times. Washed and waxed it in Monterey myself the day after taking delivery at Laguna Seca. Just did first round of Zaino yesterday, oh my it looks good!

Takes me ten minutes to wash the car, and 45 minutes to clean the V spoke wheels!
And I have not learned any speed tips on my second MCS with these wheels (and brake pads). Maybe a nice grey wheel will get me back to ten minutes...

Red

I've never taken Nippy through an auto car wash, nor have I ever let anyone else touch his paint (hard enough that I have to allow them to touch the leather/interior sometimes :impatient).
BUT.. I am not his original owner.. so I imagine that sometime in his two years before we met, someone else was probably washing him..

I hand wash him at least once a week (pleasures of having a Jet Black MINI). About 45 minutes to wash and an hour to dry.
