Painters tape worked very well.
I applied painters tape before our sojourn to the Dragon. It worked very well, even survived a serious rain storm. Here's a pic....
The only challenge it faced was the parts of tape that were overlaid onto painters tape lost it's stickyness when it got wet (real wet). The tape that was applied directly to the painted body stayed stuck.
Anyways, the tape took some pretty significant shots that otherwise would have chipped me little MINIs nose.
