I ordered a second 2006 MCS for my wife today.
It is Royal Grey like mine
it has the park lane dash w/chrome trim, the aero kit and english flag mirrors to.
and the JCW package
multi-function steering wheel,
she is getting the 18in JCW star spoke rims as well, the five spoke ones
xenon headlamps
and the auto dimming mirror w/rain sensor
heated front seats mirrors and washers
and the English panther leather.
Also the iPod adapter, and the auxilary gauges in front of the shifter

The only strings attached are that she can't spend any more money on it until i have the loan paid off. At a total of $37,852 dollars I'm gonna be hurtin for a while, but it'll be worth it. We sold her car for about fifteen thousand (an 02 subaru) so were only financing about eighteen of the price. So no mods on mine for a while Shes supposed to be hear at the end of september LATEST. I'll let you know how it goes

That's very exciting! I'm curious, though: why are you ordering a second MINI in the same color? Very interesting choice...

 

Well originally I was going to get dark silver but some
complication drove me to get Royal Grey, and my wife liked it
enough that she decided she wanted hers in the same color
She was originally going to get it in solar red but she thought it would
be "cute" if we had the same color MINI Why?
I have no idea, but this ones hers so what she wants
she gets

Good! I was hoping that you were not planning on surprising her only to find out that she would like a different color that didn't match your MINI.

Is solar red still available? I thought it had been withdrawn. It is a gorgeous color and would be a nice mate to your RG! Whatever she has chosen, congrats on having a wife who also loves MINIs! What fun!

 

I think the solar red only comes in the Cooper. It's still around, but won't be next year.

I'm not ever sure I would take the chance of suprising her with a color. Plus the only reason we're getting a second is cause she wanted it.
I was pretty sure Solar Red was still available, knowing my wife shed get the car painted
And I think the fact that my wife loves MINIs to is a blessing cause I dont know if anybody else would be able to stand up with my contstant MINI chatter
Yeah I think we both know that I'm going to be trading cars with her

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but Solar Red was discontinued as of April 30, 2006 along with Purple Haze and Liquid Yellow.

I knew Solar Red was disc. as I just ordered mine and the only Red avail. is Chili Red.

What is the diff? Is SR metallic or flat? I know it's brighter/more orange.

LOL well I know mine is a guym but my wife will have to decide if hers is a girl or not, probably will be and maybe in another 15 years I'll buy ny daughter one and have a little family

 

Actually I dont know, I know one is brighter like you said but I think that Chili red is more gloss and Solar Red is a flatter color

Your MA should have given it to you when your ordered. It's a little confusing in that you get a week of the year rather than a day.

My production date is this 2006/07/27. Looks like the European format for July 27, 2006, right?

For MINI production it means the FIRST week of July, 2006. The first week of July is the 27th Production Week of the year. So, that's why you see Production Week XX Support Group.

Solar Red is a metallic red and actually looks quite different in different lighting...under the the gas lights of my dealers shop it is hard to tell CR and SR apart, but in the the sunshine it takes on an orange hue while at night it almost looks maroon.

 

well in that case i'm gonna go call them right now and find out!

 

so my MA said that its about four weeks before delivery so about July 10th for an August 10th delivery
