Any trouble-free '06 MCS's out there???

Getting ready to pull the trigger on ordering an MCS but it seems lately people are having an increasing amount of problems crop up. I know it's the nature of these forums for the negative stuff to be emphasized so I would be interested in hearing from any early '06 people out there who have been problem-free Thanks

My 05 was problem free. Honestly even if you have a problem or two the MINI is so awesome its worth the occasional trip to the dealer

I had a 06 for 4.5 months, no trouble or problems at all except the 1/2 ton Dodge pickup that tried to kill me, got Gunner but Gunner saved me. Wonderful to drive and fun every trip. No other car has the fit and finish at the price range of a MINI with the sporty driving we get with our cars.

Good cars, and I'm ordering another next week.

I have had my 06' cooper s for 1.5 months now. No problems at all. I had an '05 cooper s for 1 year with mods and never had a problem. The mini cooper s is a great car which has been designed to be driven. Break it in properly per the owner's manual, and it should be fine.

06 MCS that I've had for almost 2 months and 6,000+ miles. The only problem so far is that the rear window sprayer dribbles more fluid down the tailgate than it sprays on the window, if you try to use it. I'm sure it will be easy to fix at its first service, and it's a minor inconvenience until then.

Nothing else wrong at all, so I'm quite happy.

I have an 06 DS/B that's 3 months old. Nearly 2000 trouble free miles thus far. This weekend is the big road trip to Sin City from SoCal so we'll see how things go on a longer trip. That said I expect zero problems. Thus far I'm an extremely satisfied MINI owner.

My 06 has been trouble free for the 4,000 miles, two autocrosses, trip to Minis on the Dragon, and several months that I've owned it. 2ndMiniac's 05 has had zero problems for the one year, 20,000 miles, four autocrosses, two cross country trips (5,500 miles in 9 days and 3,600 miles in 4.5 days), and Minis on the Dragon that we've owned it. Her 04 MC also had zero problems in the two years of ownership. As you can probably guess....we're Miniacs for a good reason.

'06 MCS with 4K, NO problems, except it just begs to be driven.

Wife's MC, well, 350 miles. Too new to tell.

Thus far both MINIs have been great to own. I'd buy an '06 SOON before it becomes too late for delivery of an '06. I understand some folks ordering now are getting September production dates. I believe early-mid October is the cutoff for this year's production. Then you'll get an '07 with a new unproven power plant.

Good luck!

December build, modded from day 1, and except for a fluid change in the diff (for the limited slip groan), it has not complained about being flogged on a daily basis!

Bought in February and it has not been back to dealer for anything except a missing interior panel fastener that I noticed when I droppped the rear seats recently (probably never put in at factory). Maggie is running as rock solid as the day I bought her (actually much better now that she is broken in .... ) 3200 miles and I feel as though I am just beginning to get acquainted....

No problems with my 06 MCS! Of course, its only 5 days & 1000 miles old, but everything is smooth sailing so far.

Thanks for the input. It's nice to hear the good experiences that you've had so that I'm not so paranoid. I'll be using the MINI as a daily driver with no mods so I shouldn't be too rough on it. I currently have an '02 330i which has given me no problems so I hope I don't regret the change. It's a great car but a little boring with the Steptronic.

Both my wife's '05 MCSa (9800 miles) and my '06 MCS (4100 miles) are daily drivers and absolutely no mechanical or electrical problems. The only shop work was on the MCSa to replace the steering wheel air bag unit because the MINI emblem on the steering wheel was coming off (how's that for a weird issue ).
