Pictures do not do the car justice. It is stunning.
The only thing the car is missing is the correct shifter ****. According to the dealer, you can't order one.........

Where did you find the MC40 in San Antonio? I own an MC40 and live in SA.... I have never seen another one around here.
Did it come with all the goodies? stickers magnets and #plate? Price?
I checked out their website, very nice ride! Mine has the JCW kit but was missing magnets and the GB on the back. Love the car!
It has everything except the MC40 ****. I have been looking for a bit and it appears to be the least molested one in this area of the country. I paid high retail because I wanted it....
It pains me to see them with bonnet stripes and union jacks on the roof. I understand to each his own, but why buy that one in the first place? Rant over.
I absolutely love the car. It still doesn't stir me the way my classic clubby did, but it will also get me where I'm going comfortably without having to pull over to fiddle with it.

Thanks to Way at Way Motorworks. I now have the correct MC40 **** along with the magnets coming in the post.
I probably won't ever put the magnets on, but now I have all the bits it would have come with new. 336 is as it was and how it should be.

I will keep my eye out for you. There always seem to be a couple for sale. The dificult part is to find an unmolested one. I managed to find one that was complete bar the shift **** and magnets. I have since found those bits.....

So wait...in terms of the JCW pkg, it was strictly an option for the MC40 just as it was for a std S, right? Did any come out of the factory as an MC40 JCW? That dang JCW cf dash sure is deceiving. =) Thanks in advance and pls excuse my ignorance. Just saw Italian Job again and my interest for one peaked again...lol.
Sidenote - Currently have a Dakar M Roadster w/~150k miles...would love to get into a JCW to split the miles with.

There were no MC40 JCWs produced. The MC40 is a package in addition to the standard S. In addition to the dash, there is the 2 piece BBS wheels, DSC, on board computer, headlamp washers, red and black seats, all the badging, floor mats, shift ****, and a few more bits and bobs.
My understanding is that the JCW package was a "dealer" or "port" installed option--not from the factory in 2004. You could order an MC40 then check the box for JCW package which was instialled by the dealer or at the port before delivery.
Hope that helps.

Hi, new to the forum here and came upon this thread and it got me thinking. I just recently, anbout a month ago, purchased a 2004 mini cooper s. Im trying to decide if it is an mc40 or a clone (if there is such a thing). From what I have read it does have these matching parts to real mc40s: 40 year mats, 40 year shifter, carbon fiber jcw dash, 2 piece p90 wheels, chrome gb badge on back, red and black seats, on a six speed. I can see traces of decals above the hood scoop where there was two decals same as the pictures. the previous owner did many other aftermarket upgrades including a fiberglass body kit, exhaust, roll cage, roof checkers and some more decals on the side such as the number 37 and a big mini logo. I guess my real question is, is it a real mc40?
thanks,
Hayden

Hayden,
I don't think anyone has attempted to clone an MC40. Most seem to remove the decals, etc. If you are not planning on returning it to stock, you may want to hang on to the mats and the shift ****. Someone (like I already did) will be willing to pay for the MC40 specific bits.
I would love to see a picture of it with a body kit on it.

Is there a certain number of posts I need before I post pictures? Its not letting me. Ivan always email them if you would like to see.
I place on keeping the mats and stuff just cause they match the theme of the mods.
Is there any way through like the vin to be able to tell what number mc40 it is?
