Green Flash I love both of your MC40's. The import looks to be stuck in cement though. Best of luck with both and Welcome. By the way do you have the number plate between the seats? Let us know which car you have of the thousand?

Has anybody replaced the run flat tires yet? I was wondering if you went with run flats again or changed to regular tires? Any brand I should look at?

Thecolonel1215,

That is snow in which the tires are deeply imbedded. At least that is what it looks like to this native Floridian. May try to push it out for another photo op.

Unfortunately, do not know the sequence number. The car is original, but is missing the numbered plaque, the magnetic 37 for the door, and the 33EJB for the hood.

Replaced my runflats like a lot of other people, to S-Drive. Looks like I am going to have to replace those soon, because of cupping. Probably will be Michelins A/S-3.

Yea, the number plate in the middle is NLA, as well as the 37 magnet and the decal kit. Check all the manuals in the glove box, someone might have put it in there ( in between the pages or marked the number series on them ). Also check between the front seats & console and under them, possible it could have dropped into there.

Good luck and hope you find it.

Placement of Decals
With the help of the posters on this thread, I am purchasing new decals for my MC 40. The current decals are replacements. The one on the hood is placed much too close to the hood scoop. Wanting to restore to original, I need measurement on the placement of the decals.

Can anyone help?

There is allot of good picture in this thread a couple pages back to use as refernece. Looks like there is about an inch gap for the black "33 EJB plate" , then there is a a very small gap rill you get to the 40 years logo. Looks like near 1/8 of an inch.

MC40 #369 Chiming in!!
Hi everyone, I've been following many of the posts recently and thought I would get #369 out in the open! I'm the original owner and just decided to get it back in original shape (75,000 miles). I didn't have to do very much. I had the decals replicated, worked on the wheels a bit and did some general car detailing. I decided to take it to a local car show just for fun and really enjoyed it. Lots of US built muscle cars there but lots of interest in our Mini as well. I'm going to try and post a picture or two if I can figure it out. Thanks to all for showing me the MC40 is alive and well. VicP.

Very nice looking MINI, difficult to believe it has 75K on the odo. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Hello all, could someone give me an idea of where to purchase the MC40 decals? I have contacted the 3M person referred to above, but have not yet received a response.

Alternatively, if one of you could give me the dimensions of each of the MC40 decals (black "license plate" rectangle on hood, MC40 decal on hood, MC40 decal on rear fender), I would really appreciate it!

I am trying to have a custom decal set from the 1967 Monte Carlo Rallye Mini made for my 2014 Mini Cooper S.

Thanks in advance!

I recently purchased replacement MC 40 decals from 3M. Found the communication through email to be quick and clear. The decals arrived and I believe they look just like the originals. Try contacting 3M again.

Since you are getting a 2014 MCS, I am curious why you are deciding to commerate the 1967 victory when you could do a 50th year commeration of the 1964 victory.

I just purchased #260 from a dealer in Pueblo, CO. I'm the 2nd Owner. "Monte" has 134,000 miles and is completely original. Thankfully garage kept so all the stickers are in great shape.

New to me MC40
I just sealed the deal on a 2004 MC40 FL car with 24k on the clock. This is my third MINI and one that I could not afford when I got my first one. Car is inbound from FL to NY and I cant wait till it gets here. CAI and strut brace are on the menu with a 16% pulley to follow.

K9MINI,

Welcome to the select group of MC 40 owners. You have one of the lowest milage and most original of these cars. I did review the extensive number of photos the seller had posted on this car when I was looking for an interesting R53. Your MC 40 is the closest to new, off the showroom, condition that I have seen among all R53's.

May you get years of enjoyment from this MINI.

The new to me MC40 gets here on Friday via Exotic Motor Transport out of FL.
I am excited to get this car out on the road. Now I have to get new tires on the front because the originals are shot. I figured with the mileage this car had I would need tires so no surprise there. I have an M7 cai and strut brace ready to go on the car as well as a Helix short shift adapter. Can't wait to hear the supercharger again. My wife's 2010 S c turbo just doesn't do it for me.

Ok question for you guys. What is the build date range on these cars? I want to do an exhaust and need to know which date range we are in.

Awesome.

Whats the last 7 digits of the Vin? I believe when they changed the hanger on the Cooper S exhaust was 1/2004. Do you have a JCW exhaust in mind?

You are a 5/2004 production , so follow the 1/2004+ exhaust components or fitments.

+1 on the JCW , looks and sounds awesome.

So I don't know what number of 1000 mine is because the plaque is missing. Few issues with the car. 1 stage of the cooling fan is not working. The control arm bushings are shot. All in all I am in love all over again. M7 cai is on and my 14m old son smiles when he hears the noise so life is good!
