Hello All,
It' s ordering time. I'm sure I want the Lapis Blue on whatever MCS I get, but I'm having trouble pulling the trigger on final body color. I can't go out and see the seats in different color cars because there's none around me right now, so I'm wondering what your opinions are on which body color looks best with the Lapis seats? I'm leaning toward Dark Silver and Black Top, followed closely by Pure Silver and Black top.

Personally I find it gross with Darksilver. To me, Lapis only looks good with Pure Silver or Indi Blue. The Lapis is too bright for the Darksilver IMHO.

I would agree - I have the lapis blue in my Indi Blue - the colors look great. Or alternatively, you could go with the Pure Silver or Black exteriors.

 

my 2 c worth:
I've got lapis with EB/W and really like it.
My second choice for body color would have been DS, but with that I would have chosen space cloth.
IMHO lapis goes best with EB, then IB, then PS.

 

I've got the IB/W with the Lapis Blue Leather and I love it. Tough decision.

 

Looks BEST with Dark Silver (sorry Davbret).

Also looks good with Pure Silver, Electric blue and Indy Blue.

 

with a black/black?

 

I was in the same boat. DS vs PS both w/black. After seeing both, PS looked awesome. Especially with tint and stripes. I went with anthracite even w/out seeing it since I thought the alloy interior had too much going on.

I got the same thing... great combo!! They really compliment one another. I was worried because I ordered it without seeing it but now I'm glad I got them.

That's what I have - supposedly the lapis blue was made for the indi blue - can anyone tell me if this is true??

 

i'd love if they offered red leather with my DS/B S,
but no, so i just went with black.

i agree, and personally don't care for the DS lapis combo...

 

I have actually changed my mind from the Blackw/white in my signiture, and have got the All black S w/ lapis blue leather. looks SWEET!
Also on the showroom floor was a Indi Blue w/ black top S w/ lapis blue. That looks awesome cause of the black and blue exterior matches great with the black and blue interior.

THANKS A LOT! I happend to love the dark silver and anything's gotta be better than a pure black interior, especially in sunny FL.

 

DiD has the Lapis with DS and White - I really like it a lot!

That said, I wish I could have gotten the Lapis with Chili Red to match the UJ on the roof - MINI should really allow more flexibility in color combos.

I think, in order, this would be my preference for Lapis:

Dark Silver
Indi Blue
Black
Pure Silver
Electric Blue

This of course can change daily, but that's where I stand today!

Chili Red is still my favorite!!!

 

Electric Blue/Black Roof with Lapis Blue/Patina Interior.....I think this is the #1 look. To me Silver is way to common....But I like it that way,so get the Silver/White. I like being different.

 

i got dark silver w/ lapis blue!

i was gonna get Electric Blue / Black, but i was told by the factory that i shouldnt do it!

o well, i like the dark silver the best now! i think EB is too girly for me

 

I would say you will get more opinions than you can deal with on this question. I believe most people will say they made the best choice on colors when they purchaser their car. I originally ordered my MINI Cooper S Jet Black with Black interior. The MINI I ordered was Black/White Top, Mirrors and Black leather with Lapis Blue inserts. I also changed my order to White wheels from Silver. Most of these changes were because I saw so many orders of Black/on Black MINI’s listed on the web. After living with my MINI for two months, I'm glad I made the changes.
Go with your HEART and what you want.
ENJOY YOUR MINI NO MATTER WHAT THE COLOR INSIDE OR OUT.
P.S. I’m 50 and have never owned a car that was Black, my other car is a Dakar Yellow BMW M3.

Go with something that stands out, not dull gray or silver. Try light green...Be different, be flash. Or not.
Don't be like all the rest. IMNHO.

 

Best color combos with it in my opinion are...

IB/IB (What I have, ehe)
IB/B
DS/DS
DS/B
B/B
PS/B
PS/PS

 

I like your choice! Why? I just ordered my own DS/DS with lapis. Get what YOU like, you will be happy in the end!!

Definiteley Dark Silver. It contrasts nicely with the Lapis blue without clashing. In second place, pure silver also looks nice although in my opinion, less striking.
When combining colors for your mini, think about it like combining clothes.
I look my best in a dark grey suit, white shirt and blue tie for accent. So my mini is DS/W with Lapis blue!

And I look good in it!

I´ve ordered mine with DS/W and the lapis blue interior, i think it looks great =)

 

Three colours look great with Lapis, IB, DkS and Black, although if you go for Dks or Blk also go for the Blk top and mirrors.

 

I'll throw my $.02 in:
My MCS is on order - Indi Blue with Black roof, Lapis Blue leather, and anthracite trim. The Lapis Blue looks really cool with the anthracite! The contrast of the blue carpet set against the darker anthracite trim looks great. I liked the idea of a car that was made up of only two colors: blue and black. Don't get me wrong - I REALLY like the IB/W, it is a classic combination.. I thought that the IB/Black was just a little different (plus it "hides" the sunroof). So there you have it, IB/Black + Lapis leather is the coolest! (actually, any car with lapis Leather is really cool).
