MINI Motoring Insurance???
Sorry if this was covered before. Anybody else got the offer?
It looks like MINI USA is offering insurance catered to MINI owners. I just got the offer in the mail today. According to the letter, Liberty Mutual is offering the policy. The some of the benefits listed are:
I know BMW USA had a similar program a few years ago. I don't remember who was the provider or if it's still offered today.

- Savings up to 10% on Liberty Mutual's regular policy.
- Enhanced roadside assistance with towing to nearest MINI dealer.
- Original MINI replacement parts.
- New vehicle replacement cost coverage.
- Concierge service (whatever that is).

i got that letter last week. ended up in the trash.
i don't think i can get a lower price than what i am getting
right now... although I may switch insurance companies completely
(home, life, car, etc.) down the road.

I received that in the mail last week. It's in the trash now. I like when they say you'll get more discounts by having air bags and anti-lock brakes. For a MINI only insurance package. They really don't know much about the MINI.
I already have all my cars and house on a Liberty Mutal policy. The rate is excellent, and their service has been really good. I can't say a bad thing about them. No grief, no hassles on claims.
I think I read in that package that I could just transfer my existing LM policy to the MINI one....I'll have to call.

We were in the process of switching insurance companies with the arrival of the new MINI anyway and had a quote from a regional firm that my wife swears everyone at work uses because they are so cheap (but with apparently uncertain service qualifications). I was a little nervous about this so I called on the MINI insurance offer tonight. Somewhere in the voice mail system, this offer was identified as a BMW offer - but when I got to a person, he confirmed that it is a bona fide discount offer for MINI owners and he advised that if I ever give up the MINI, then the rates on other cars would need to go up. Go figure. Great reason to have a MINI for life !!
Anyway, his quote was almost $500 less than the discount company my wife proposed. She is waiting for a counter offer from them but I am ready to pull the trigger on this offer.
From what I hear from others, Liberty Mutual is very strong in service and claims, and even has bricks and mortar claim centers where you can go and get the car inspected on the spot. With strong service and the lowest quote we have ever had on our cars, I am wondering what is wrong with this picture....
Glad I didn't fling it in recycling!!

Wow... maybe I should have called them. I've received quite a few of these mailings over the years but didn't think it would really be cheaper.
I've been with State Farm since the day I started driving... pretty skeptical of changing that but if we're talking hundreds of dollars.... hmm....

What kind of deductibles to you all have though?
I am a maximum coverage kind of girl after having a lot of claims for various and sometimes strange things.
State Farm has been very good to me. I still may call though. I get a lot of discounts with them though for multiple line, safe driver, they say mine is lower because I came off of my mom's policy many years ago as well... or so I was told. I've made calls here and there over the years and every single place was way higher.

I contacted them last night and comparing apples-to-apples, they were almost $300/per more than I pay now. Quote request went to the "round file"
Check out 21st Century Insurance....they have my vote

Just signing the contract today - the final policy with $500k and $500 deductable is 40% less than a LESSER policy ($300k) from State Farm. Man I am amazed - we are almost cutting our insurance bill in half and doing so with a "full service" insurance company. Liberty apparently has drive in claim centers and other nice ideas about the service end of the business. Now, NJ is a crazy state for insurance but we don't have any young drivers - just the two of us. We compared this with some internet and telephone discount insurance companies in NJ and this was the best quote we could find. Frankly, I am a bit amazed but very happy.

I called them up a few days ago and it came out to about $20 less per month for better coverage (now I'm insured for up to $1500 of anything stolen from my car), so I decided to switch. Formerly I was with Mercury through AIS.
I got a quote last week. They were about 18% higher than I pay 21st Century. Everyone I've gotten quotes from is higher than 21st, though, and they usually don't include any of the extras that MINI Motoring Insurance does.
Don't know why State Farm didn't like us but it was like cutting our rates in half... Maybe it is a Jersey thing - auto insurance here has always been a rough go for insurers and insured.....

The guy at Liberty Mutual thought my State Farm rate was really good. He was like "oh, we're already $300 higher and I haven't factored in your record, changed the deductibles, nothing... we're not going to be able to come close to that one".
It varies so much from state to state though. Mine doubled when I moved to GA.

Twas 2.00 less than my current policy with State Farm. My SF policy is on my parents (I pay). Too much hassle to switch, State Farm has been good to us, and I don't need to switch anytime soon anyhow. But it's good to know.
Rip-off insurance. I got the letter offer twice at different times and in both instances I was quoted at least $1K more a year than with my current carrier, State Farm.
Keep in mind that here in Miami, we tend to pay 3-4 times the national average for insurance. I currently pay $1,500 per year with State Farm Mutual and that is VERY CHEAP for Miami.
Liberty Insurance was quoting me around $2,500 a year for the same coverage after all was said and done. I said, "no thanks".
