Who has the Coolest plans for the Memorial Day Weekend?

Ok, I'll admit it; I have no life (except 2 MINI's, a great gf and a good dog!) but no plans for the weekend. I think I remember someone posting from France, on their way to Monaco for the F1 race. That's very Cool! Also, many on the way to Indy. So the question is; Who has the Coolest plans for the weekend?

Not nessicarly the coolest plans (someone is bound to go to the JCM Challenge race) but I'll be at a car show in Buffalo Grove on Sunday, if you want to head down from Milwaukee and meet a bunch of other MINIacs. I also plan on fixing an internal oil leak on another car and spending much time detailing my MINI, and engineering a water shield for my CAI (VERY SCARY incident Wed. night, I was about 1/2 inch away form hydrolock).

Not everyone would consider my plans cool.

I have around 120 miles of riding planned for the weekend, and that's a fairly light weekend considering it's a 3-day.

My "other vehicle":

So, I guess installing a catalytic converter on an old CR-V doesn't move the fun-meter very far . . . I'll be missing Indy for only the third time in 20+ years. We'll go back next year.

Well, I'm hoping to be picking up my new MINI! If that doesn't work out, well, it's going to be a long weekend.

I am installing a cat door to the room where the litterboxes are so the dogs stop getting "kitty roca" out of them.

Ok, I win!

Damn, it sounds like I'm the only one having FUN this weekend!

Friday night: meeting friends at our usual Friday pizza joint for $4 pitchers of PBR and $1 slices. Later it's to a CD release part of a friend's band "Cat Fight!" and Dames-A-Flame Burlesque troop is performing.

Saturday: Pick up my boyfriend from airport in my new MINI to show him that I have conquered the concept of shifting. Back to the house to prep for Sunday’s BBQ, borrow a grill, shop for food and beer, play with the dog. That night, we’re off to watch more bands and another burlesque show staring some of my best girl friend, Doll Squad.

Sunday: Brunch, as usual. Prepare side dishes all afternoon for the BYOM (Bring Your Own Meat) Party which starts at 4pm. Sadly, no motoring that day, probably best, for drinking will start prompt at Brunch.

Monday: Thinking about day-tripping to Chattanooga to see friends... Anything for a really long drive...

All a matter of opinion, I enjoy turning a wrench, even more so when improving a car. Plus I'lll get to hang out with some MINIacs. And those who are picking up their MINIs I'm sure will have a balst too.

Will be attending Randy's final PP here in the Bay Area -- may or may not be getting an install -- but they'll be lots of MINI folks there hangin' out and saying goodbye to the guru one last time. And Saturday night we're doing a Midnight Run through San Francisco!

My planned weekend? I'm still a member of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) and it is Chicago region's PCA Driver's Ed weekend at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI. A GREAT 4 miles track. So I plan to show up in my MINI for touring on the track on Saturday and Sunday. If there is an opening for track time, I hope to join up with the Porsches and have a good time. It's supposed to be sunny and around 80-85 degrees, so the track will be nice and hot! My MCS is broken in and I plan to open it up, safely, on the track! Woo hooooo!!!! Now THAT is cool!

Long drive to NC / SC border from New Jersey to attend 50th wedding anniversary of wife's relatives. Unfortunately we will be doing the trip in the Mini - Van, not the MINI.....

I have convinced my wife that for two family reunions this summer we will take BOTH cars so that I can show off the MINI to all the relatives - many of them have been waiting for me to get the car and are darn eager for a ride....

I just bought a new house w/ a pool... So I am just gunna drink a lot of beer and float around trying to erase the paste from my skin.

I guess that is not cool, but it will help me stay cool.

Anybody want to help me unpack, then go clean my old apartment?! ... NO?!? .... c'mon!
