R50/53 Bye-Bye Jeep, Hello Mini!
#1
Just wondering... I'm in the process of trying (despirately) to sell my Jeep Cherokee so I can finally order my MINI. I've been dreaming of my mini for years now and have test driven them on numerous occasions, making the wait even more agonizing. I just wanted to know how many of you traded in or sold your Jeep or SUV for your mini!
Oh, and if you know anyone who's looking for a Cherokee could you send them my way?

Mine is a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 45,000miles. It has a factory warranty to 60,000 miles on the powertrain and major service groups, moonroof, power windows and locks, remote keyless entry, automatic trans, 6CD changer, 400W stereo system, and new tires. It's Patriot Blue with dark grey interior. It's been a really great vehicle but I don't have use for all the space and I need something a bit sportier before I get married and have kids! Once I sell it, if I ever feel a need to drive over something or go off road again my Fiance has a wrangler thats a lot of fun to drive too!
I'm in the Detroit area if your interested!

I was going to trade in my 1991 Jeep Cherokee, but I've decided to keep it. It has 194,000+ miles on the ticker, and it'll likely push close to 200,000 by the time I get my MINI. I've never had any major service. It's been around so long, it's like a member of the family.
I knew the dealership wouldn't give me anything for it, so I decided to keep it to haul my kayak, beat around in, go fishing, etc.
If no one has ever owned an old reliable vehicle, there is a certain comfort knowing that you can do ANYTHING to it, and you don't care. Got a dent -- who cares. Some kid backed into your bumper -- big woop. During the ice storm, I had a tree limb fall on it, but the Yakima rack protected the Jeep. I didn't even bother to check for dents and dings.
What a change the MINI will be.
See ya,

I'm moving from a 95 Cheap Strangler to a MCS. The poor jeep has 134,000 miles on it , the damn thing shakes so bad i think my teeth are going to fall out. Plus, it gets broken into every 2 months or so. I have the right window zip tied shut. and HA! you want quality control, I'll give you quality control, if i every see the guys that made my jeep i'm gonna kick their asses, nothing like 11 pages of warranty claims to make you never never never ever by a chrysler (or american) car or light truck again. The one bright spot in it though, aside from needing a new top and a pair of have squashed bumperettes (DAMN YOU OLD BASTARD!!!) the body is in near perfect shape. Sadly its in better shape than my sterotypically dumb sisters 01 golf. I guess it pays to be a car nut.
