So I set my digital camera in its case on the hood of my MINI, right next to the driver side wiper arm. I figured that there was no way that I could forget about it if I set it there being in plain sight. I then instantly forgot that I set it there, did something else, and got in my car to leave. I backed up, took a right, sat at a stoplight, took a left and took off. About 2 blocks later I suddenly remembered. Oh *****! Now going 40mph I peered over the dash and there it was gripping the hood for its life. I reached around the window with my go go gadget arm and plucked it from its death.

So I guess I should be thanking my MINI for having such a curvacious hood and smooth ride, or something. I cant believe it was still there after two turns and at 40mph!

It sure feels good laughing at yourself for doing something stupid. Only when you didnt actually destroy your digital camera though.

Reminds me of something that happened to me back in high school.

I'd taken my girlfriend out to a concert in my mom's Range Rover, and afterwards we stopped at a local municipal airport to...umm...watch the planes land. Got out and went around to sit on the tailgate.

Later on we left, and after I'd gotten about two miles away I realized my wallet wasn't in my back pocket. We pull over and start searching the car, and it's not there. So we head back to where we had parked. Nothing.

Then, as we go to get back in, I look down. My wallet had fallen onto the runnning board and somehow stayed there through a combined four miles of driving...
