MINIs for sale on Cardomain for too cheap. Scam?

There are 2 MINIs listed for sale on Cardomain.com for under $6k, one is a JCW:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2322799 = $5600

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2326114 = $3750

What the MINIheck is going on? Are these MINIscams? Are they MINIcrazy? I think its a MINIfluke.

Just thought that I would share (and procrastinate working while I am at it)

Maybe they forgot to add a "1" or "2" in front of those numbers...

Whhaaa!?!?! Yeah I dont know what is up with that. But it does kinda seem like the same person designed both pages, something about both of them that seems similar. I guess If you meet in person and run the vin with the DMV, it might be worth takin a look. How bout a cheap, awesome dedicated track car? anyone?

The $5600 one is a JCW

The same guy also has a BMW Z4 for $7000.

I bet it is one of those "wire the money to a foreign country & then I will give you your keys" kinda deals

Exactly! "My company has moved me to (fill in any country but the U.S.). If you wire me a deposit I can ship you the car and you can check it out. The shipping company will hold the money. If you're not interested in the car it will be shipped back and your deposit will be returned.I wll pay for all shipping costs and taxes." UHHH, OK...I was looking for some used MINIs on craigslist (before NAMers convinced me to buy new) and people would post MINIs for absurdly low prices. Then I would check ebay and find a listing for the same exact car. That's how they get VIN numbers, photos and descriptions of the car. And for some reason the more you email them the worse their grammer and english gets. Bottom line if it's too good to be true it's probably a scam.

Obviously not written by a Mini owner

I think these two "ads" were written by the same person. At least that's the sense I get. The way they were written, it's clear they've never driven a mini or even been in one.

Scammers all the way

I agree that they are probably "Katrina Kars". We had a big article about it locally in our Sunday paper, warning of the potential danger in the next few years for used cars possibly having been refurbished to sell from those affected areas.

It'll only take a while to get it back to the USA

Well, the first one that goes for it will be the winner. The only problem is that the car is in the Czech Republic and you will have to wait for it to be shipped back. But the price! You can't beat the price!

Here is the response that I got back from my inquiry.

Hello,
*
Thank you for your interest in my car.I really hate to let it go but I must sell and what bothers me most is that I need to find a buyer over the Internet. However, this is the only way I will manage to do so since I recently moved to Czech Republic,Prague due to work and family.Furthermore, I am a fresh daddy and I just don't have the time to enjoy the car either way (my loss is your gain). I know it may seem quite difficult to complete such a deal, but I can assure you that my intentions are very straight and serious. I don`t have relatives in the States anymore so I had to bring it with me. The car is still registered in the USA and if I`ll sell it to an American it will be easier for the both of us. I realize that the price is a little below Blue Book value but if I will try to sell it locally, bringing it to Czech Republic requirements, bodywork modifications and registration will be extremely expensive and nobody will purchase under these circumstances.I suppose that this means good news for you as the vehicle is in pristine condition, no accident history, clear title, no dents or dings,no scratches and it has the original color too! Always adult driven and garaged, never abused or raced, it hasn't even seen rain! I want everything to work out well for both of us. I will take care of the shipping and handling because I understand that nobody will pay for it since I am the one fettered to sell overseas. I have posted it as being in US, since this is where the sale has to be consumed. Please respond to my e-mail if you think we can make a deal.

===

If someone has the cash and buys the car, let us know how long it took to get it back to the US.

Oh no, the b words have all been edited out! Well I guess I was happy too soon. But "biatches" is still there, so that must be OK, so I guess I can just use that word more often. I love expanding my NAM vocabulary.

I've heard that one before. Its like there is a book of scams that they look through and decide which one to try for. My wife once found a nice Benz convertible for real cheap, but it turned out that it was in England, with the same story. Nice try jerks.
