Getting Gas Issues - Has this happened to you?

I was not aware of this issue when we first purchased our MCSC. It definitely took me by surprise!

So after a weekend of fun-driving and breaking in our MINI it was had just about 1/4 left. So after dinner we decide to drive down to the local gas station and fill it up before I had to go to work the next day. When leaving our parking garage, I click the OBC a few times and see that it says I have about 60+ miles left on it. I then, for no understandable reason, took the long way to the gas station. Not a minor wrong turn or anything, but a huge 20-30 min "scenic route" circle to get to the gas station.

Who knew driving the MINI would be so much fun that getting gas has now turned into an adventure!

Has this strange occurence happened to you? Does it affect you repeatedly? Let us know your similar stories here!

I take the scenic route everywhere I go when I'm in the mini . It's amazing that such a small car can make a normal ride (like going to work) fun.

I left my home to run an errand (getting a cheap torque wrench). It has been three days now and I'm in a part of the country that doesn't speak English. Who are you people? Where is my wife?

Whoa! You must have ended up in my hometown, Los Angeles!

Yeah, we MINI folk seem to enjoy taking the road less-travelled but in a MINI it becomes more-travelled!

Whenever I pick up my MCS after a service appointment in Calabasas, I take Las Posas, PCH, Sunset Bl to get back to Silverlake. Adds an additional hour or so of smiles and grins to my day.

Whenever I have a bad day at work, I double up my route home by taking a curvy drive thru the country. Normally my commute is about 40 minutes, but when I take this route it is about 1 hr 10. It's a surefire way to get me out of a bad mood.

I find reasons to run errands now. I even split errands, or accidentally 'forget' one of them.
This means another errand is just around the corner.
