I picked up my MINI on Tuesday & happened to notice today that the door sills say MINI ONE. My MINI is a MC. And I understand there is a MINI ONE in Europe but not in the US. Any thoughts or what do your sills say?

I have an MC and my door sills say MINI COOPER, so it looks like a factory error..hehehe You can probably have the dealer replace them, but I think that is kind of a cool quirk if you ask me

BTW-Nice specs on your MC

It may be a "cool quirk", but I would have them replaced.

Too many questions when you go to sell the car. Was it wrecked? etc. IMHO.

Does it say "Mini 1" or "Mini One". The latter is the correct version I think. Perhaps something new?

I would keep it. Its just a discussion starter within a Mini crowd. I've got something that looks like a scratch under my clearcoat. It doesn't bother me, just adds charcter to my ride. Someone else has a dried paint drip under their Mini. Its just a cool quirk.

Granted that your MC is not a Hot Wheel, but the factory defects are the HWs that pull mucho bucks! I would get the right door sills for when you sell it and keep the MINI ONE on the car. Either way don't let the dealer take the MINI ONE sills. Given that the ONE is not available in the States, you could possably make a buck or two for those who may want something a little different.

I'll give you $10 bucks for them, and I'll pay the shipping.

Replace, but keep.. but make sure you get new ones on there before you try to take them off to sell them (if you are inclined to do so..) MINI doesn't seem to be too forthcoming with trim parts.. (My MCS was built with one MCS style runningboard, and one MC style runningboard... but i did have the right nameplates on them..)

Went to dealer tonight to pick up certificate of origin & just happened to mention Louie's door sills to them. Oh my God, they went running out the door to see them saying "that's a collector's item". They had never heard of that happening before
(neither has MINIUSA). The dealer wants pictures so they can post them in the showroom So, I guess I'll keep them for now

Louie sounds like a very special car.

Just make sure they give you an additional set of sill plates!

Then you can be very "silly" and have it both ways.

Don't touch them! Perhaps cover them with plastic like clear bra materal. I had one replaced due to a deep scratch from day one on my S. They had to reorder 4 times before they received a good one.The S has been changed also and they are always bent when removed.
I'd keep the "rare birds" myself.

OH PLEASE leave them alone. This is a mistake from the factory. I have heard of one other who has had this and was thrilled by the mistake. The MINI One is our "S", but in Europe. What a collector's item, to have a MINI One with left hand drive.

>>
>>

Actually, that's not correct...
The MINI ONE is the base model MINI, Has a body color only roof, black plastic mirrors and a 90 h.p. engine. It also has hupcaps.
It's not sold in the U.S. because a 90 hp car probably wouldn't sell too well in the U.S.'s very horsepower-conscious automotive marketplace.
It has nothing to do with the "S", which is also available in Europe.

Sounds kinda cool if you keep it documented. Should not impact the car value that way. Did you point out the defect to the other girly car
