De-chroming quesion.

I'm wondering if I could get something that would strip the chrome finish off of plastic parts to avoid having to do a bunch of sanding in the nooks & crannys (i.e. on the side blinker surrounds). I guess it would have to be aggressive enough to strip the plating off, yet not so much as to affect the plastic...

Is it a matter of getting the chrome off, or needing to rough up the surface for the paint to adhere to?

thanks.

its really easy actually.....model builders do it a lot.

Check it out here: http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/archiv...p/t-34622.html

Basically sounds like 409, bleach, and Castrol Super Clean are your best bet.
