My Mini is afraid of the dealership.

I am right around 10,130 miles right now, and for the last 200 miles or so, the next service visit counter has been holding steady at 1100. Not around 1100, a good constant 1100.

Is this normal? Am I going to see it just start dropping at some point? Or is my MINI just telling me it doesn't want to go in for his annual checkup?

i had my gas "mileage to go" counter stick at 25 miles left. i eventually ran out of gas. it might be avoiding the shop, but that doesnt mean its a smart thing!

Why would tapping a digital odometer help?

Well you only need to be at 1500, so take her in, it measures realtive oil quality so if you've been doing lots of highway it won't drop as fast or at all, and I actually got it to add miles once (that one boggles me).

I have the exact OPPOSITE problem...I do 100% city driving (all in DC, of course...) - my MINI is now showing 6200 miles until it needs to visit the shop. The problem is, I'm only at 3200! I guess the MCS really hates the city driving...

Each MINI's needs varies quite a bit, Squeak. My Wanda did so much highway driving the first few months (more than 12K miles) that the prompter didn't want her to go in for her first service until 13,250!

And if that doesn't work, use a ball pein hammer.

A sharp tap with a ball pein hammer will fix most anything.

Just called the dealership and they said it has to be showing between 400 and 0 before I can bring her in. Luckily I am going on a trip the next couple of days, so if it hasn't moved in those 300 or so miles I will be calling again.

I did change the oil around 5000 though, so I am not too worried by any means.
