I assumed that when I get my silk green cooper in a couple of weeks that it would be the only one in my town...as I've only seen three minis out and about on a regular basis. Today I saw a silk green one with a white top, so I guess mine won't be the only one.

Then I got to thinking, do more women drive silk green minis than men?

I used to have a Pearl Green Geo Storm 10+ years ago (similar to Silk Green). Liked the color, but since I've already had that color, I didn't get it on my MINI. Current car is a Dark Green Passat V6, so BRG was out. Would've gone orange if offered. It was between Black and PW for me so wen't the PW.

Bottom line, I had no masculine issues with silk green. Color is genderless. I've just already been there.

I'm a female Silk Green owner. There is one other SG in town and it's also driven by a woman. To echo the other posters: EVERYONE tells me what a beautiful color HARMINI is.

I have kept up with all SG-related posts here on MCO and it seems that there is about a 50/50 split of men and women who own them.

Another interesting poll would be:

How many Silk Green owners have a CVT? There seems to be quite a few of us......

I am a Man.

 

I was in the automobile business for over 35 years and there were some colors that were overwhelmingly preferred by males and some colors that were overwhelmingly preferred by females. Darker, solid colors were usually preferred by males and more pastel or light earth tone colors were preferred by females. That being said, I say, get what YOU like. Color is most subjective and definitely a very personal choice. By the way, the woman usually won in the color choice.

 

It does look like a 50/50 split on the silk green, although a was expecting a slight female slant. I'm sure car marketing people have the color options / preferences all figured out. I wonder how mini people compare in color selection to the "other auto purchasers"?
