Got my Mini back!

Well after 3 long weeks of waiting, I finally got my 06 MCS checkmate back from the local autobody shop. My baby got hit on the driver side door, after only having it for 2 months. The shop did a great job with the paint but the door is not sitting right. The rear bottom of the door is not flush with the body. I also got new aero kit installed and painted to match car and looks awesome.

Also put new aero M7 splitter on as well. The thing that didn't fit was the M7 chrome grilles from the old stock bumper. The lower piece is different shape and the middle piece on bumper does not fit right. It sits very snug and won't sit flush with bumper, so I put the new black aero grilles on the bumper. Left the M7 grille on the hood cause I ran out of time the other day and didn't have fasteners to hold the aero grill in place. What do they use to hold the aero grill to the hood? The old stock grill had plastic screw looking studs with bolts to hold it in place but the new aero grill has these studs with X pattern studs.

Here's my baby:

This was damage of door before:

Whoa.

But glad to see you got it back. Did the side airbag go off when you got hit?

The airbags didn't go off cause I got hit pretty slow maybe 10mph.

Here is a shot of the rear:

I left the old regular bumper on because I screwed up and ordered a regular mini aero kit and not the S with the exhaust outlets in the middle.

Anyone interested in buying my rear aero bumper for a regular mini? Its brand new and prepainted indy blue. Please PM me surfsup98@yahoo.com.

I still have them but I got a set of Voxx scorze wheels for a very good price and they look great on my Mini.

Anyone interested in a set of checkmate wheels with less than 4k miles on them? They are in perfect condition. Pm me at surfsup98@yahoo.com if your're interested.

Here is a shot of my Mini before the makeover.

wow man, your car looks really beautiful. love the Kit too. its very slick and un-ricy (I love those new VW commercials, the Anti-Rice one, V-Dub, Represents Doutchland! )

but yea, sorry to hear about your MINI getting hit. Honestly, living in LA and having to take the lovely 405 and 101 and I5 to everywhere, I sometimes get peranoid of driving the MINI cause im not afraid of hitting somebody, (ive been a driver for almost 7 years and clean clean record for me) but ive seen how everybody drives in their tanks, or just drives like a lunactic with their Cell-phones and im just afraid somebody is gonna hit me

Did you manage to get the insurance company to pay to have your black trim painted? It looks awesome.

Great looking car. The new wheels look much better than the ones that look like horseshoes welded together.
