I Wonder What's Wrong With This MINI?

I was searching autotrader and came across this:

http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ca...en&cardist=200

It's an 05' with only 3,750miles?! And it's an MCS...lol! Something HAS to be wrong! Maybe he meant $26,000.

From the description, it appears to be one of those ultra rare 6 cylinder MCSs as well Maybe he's missing a trailing zero from the milage?

Yea, somethings up lol. Obviously he needs to re-type his ad! If it did indead have 37,500 miles on it, in my eyes would still be a killer deal! I can't seem to find any MINI's around be for under $20k (even 02's with 50k+ miles).

Yeah, that main photo does look weird.

There's a photo of the odometer, and it looks like the mileage is legit.

Maybe it's so cheap because the gas tank is empty. With the price of gas these days...

It's a scam...I've seen so many of these, there was a brand new Mini convertable out here and they only wanted like $12,000, we tried calling the # but it was disconnected and then the ad disapeared and showed back up again like a week later.

Well, some people consider the hatch a third door.

The pix are pretty bad, maybe it's beat to death. Or a scam.

I was surfing the net a while back and came across a new Ducati 748S for something like $4800. $14,800 is more like it. Just for grins I replied to the ad. The scammer stated he and the bike were in Italy and the price was indeed $4800. Oddly enough the pictures showed a Ducati in a bike shop with a sign stating the labor rate was $75.00 per hour. I'd ask more questions (that were never answered) and he'd reply off in another direction, always saying how long he'd been in business and had a great reputation and all I had to do was send him a certified check and a shiny new Duc would arrive at my door in a few weeks.

Haha, that's almost as bad as the Nigerian Check scams where they send you a check for something WAY more than what you charge and they ask you to send them a check for the change.

Can't be for real!

Be careful! I don't think it's legit - or else he has no clue how to look up values on kelly blue book...

I found my baby on Autotrader.com last year, and when I was looking, I also noticed a beautiful little yellow MCS with very low miles for about $12,000...description said the guy was from London, the car was still over there so no way to actually "view" it....said he just wanted to move to the states and needed to get rid of it asap to a good home so he could have some $$$...

Called the # and got an answering machine and never got called back. But he emailed back saying it was for real - said he had lots of offers and interest on it, so if I was serious, I could send him a deposit to hold it...
As IF!

That one was definitely a scam....!

Make sure you actually see the car, drive it and check it all out if interested!

I don't think it's a model on a kitchen table, if you look closely in some of the pics, you can see the wall in the background, and in one photo you can spot a motorcycle, apparently the floor where the photos were taken is so shiny that reflections are captured in the pics. If you are really looking for a car, why not just respond and see what the deal is.

Thats for a classic mini, the center two cylinders share an exhaust port.

When we were looking for a re-placement for Bumble we ran into a lot of Dealers with Turbo Charged MINIs. Had to be at least 5 or 6 in this area alone. Some people just dont know what they are doing.

Has the word STOLEN crossed anyone's mind??? The warehouse that it's in looks like it belongs in Gone in 60 Seconds, and there's so little gas because he drained it all during the police pursuit! Definitely too good to be true, maybe there's noe engine in it! Hell, there are no pictures of the engine...

The funniest story I ever heard while I was trying to buy a MINI, was when I went to an Infiniti Dealership to look at an 03.... There was a sticker on the back that said "Ducati" and the car had Viper stripes... The guy told me the stripes were right from the factory and "it's also a Ducati edition, so it's real quick..." And that pretty much sealed the deal for me walking away and not buying the car from there...

How stupid can this guy be? It's a British car and he's trying to tell me that an Italian Motorcycle company made a special edition of it... Come on.

I just replied to an similar ad (2005 Suzuki Hayabusa- $4000). $10,000 would be more in the ballpark. They guy e-mailed me back and said he brought the bike to the UK and only wanted that much since it cost so much to register a bike in the UK. All I had to do was send him the money and he'd send me the bike.
