Might ease the sting at first, but...
Have you thought about keeping it to re-install. You might find you can't get anything back for the mod whe you sell the car.
Re-install the stock then sell the performance exhaust separately.

After I installed a Borla system on my HEMI D the stock system went up into the Attic.
Gave ours away just about brand new - even a year ago they had little value for sale (unless you luck out and find someone that really needs one, even then I don't think they go for much). Thought about keeping it around but didn't need all that space lost to that ugly thing - made that mistake with the E46 and I still have stock parts sucking up room. Perhaps if I only had the car for a short time it might be worth it, but once the exhaust is on for many miles it loses value anyhow and the effort/cost to change back for sale seems pointless - I figure if I want to sell the JCW at any point I can swap with someone plus cash for an OEM one.
