Happy Friday - trust everyone has a raod trip of some sort planned

Quick question for those of you who know every package for the MINI back to front...

I have an 06 MCS with Premium and Cold Weather. As far as I can tell that would not include the Xenon's? Reason I ask is that my headlamps are nothing short of amazing (we have a lot of deer around here) and having never experienced Xenons I am wondering if these are just great headlamps or if Xenons were part of my package?

While I'm at it, I really like the look of the stubby antenna - does anyone know if it interferes with the quality of reception? I listen to FM all the time and do a lot of road trips.

The Xenons are available with the sport package, or you can purchase them seperately. So you still may have them if you don't have the sport package. The Xenons look like this...



As for the stubby antenna, I have no idea....

 

The stubby antennas work great, but MINIs have two antennas, one on the roof and one built in to the back window. Just remove the one on the roof and you will still get excellent reception. Try it and see.

 

The Xenons have a washer that pops up and sprays them ( the small round section on the right side of the trim in goatherder's pic). If you don't have these, you don't have xenons

Xenons are standard in Canada right?

If you are in Canada, you may well have xenons and not have ordered them.

If your lights do not look like the pic provided in post #2 then you do not have xenons

 

That pic is for the '05+ Xenons - pre'05 Xenons look different.
Best clue you have Xenons - watch them when you first turn them on: Xenons self-level and you'll see the light beam go up & down a little.

Two antennas: '05+ MINIs don't have the second antenna in the window any more (and reception is not so great).

well i took my stock antenna and chopped of the fiberglass part and kept the rubber part and pute a little rubber paint on the top of it to hide the white spot were the antenna was

now i have the stubby antenna cool look and still get ultra clear signal


thou mine is an 02 thou

 

Also, the xenons flash different shades of purple-pink when they first turn on, then come up to full brightness and whote color after 5 or 10 seconds.

 

MIB's Xenons remind me of the weapons in Men In Black and Men In Black 2. At one point I was even going to have a MIB logo put on the dash like the left half of my sig pix

My stubby on my 02 decreased reception a bit. On my 03 if I turn on the rear defroster I get static. Whats with that?

 

That would be interference ... those little electrons playing havoc?

 

I keep telling you that your car is BLUE... not Black! Astro Black is a misnomer!!! J/K hahahahaha
