I didn't know how tough these little cars were! Got hit yesterday (after owning my Mini for a little over a month and under 1000mi) and the car that I hit got messed up compared to my Mini. Granted, it's still totaled, but wow!
P.S.- I was not at fault, he turned left across traffic into my lane.

Saw this in your other thread, glad you are ok, Audi took it on the noise. wow
Does anyone know how to turn this on? The manual shows it but those images dont turn up when I follow the instructions........2008 cooper s clubman R55.
The point of this thread seems to be the sharing cool little-known facts about your MINI. I'm just going to share my embarrassment of not knowing that sunroofs drain through the car and that you have to clean them periodically. Mine are clogged now with lots of standing water in the tray, but thanks to google and this forum I am now enlightened and will be attempting to unclog them!
I'll share my embarrassment - I blew compressed air through the seam of the sunroof and managed to blow off the collection tube that drains water out of the sunroof channel. I discovered this as I was going through a car wash and noticed water dripping through the headliner. I don't know if they've improved the fitment of the drainage tube but it isn't an unknown or isolated event, I'm told!

Any help would be appreciated
Do you have the factory alarm? I believe you can only get it to beep if you have the audible alarm installed from factory. Look at post #19 HERE. More info HERE.

Ok, so, I'm sure it's buried somewhere deep in this thread, I haven't read the whole thing. I just figured out on accident that after shutting off the car, pulling the high beam stalk then removing the key, the headlights stay on for about one minute and automatically turn off.
First off - I'm just reading these - and some of y'all should be on stage!

The easiest way to get out of the rear seat is going butt first, effectively reversing how you get it. It is completely counter-intuitive, so I doubt many have tried it. It is much, much easier on the knees, and you don’t even have to have the door open much (ie, great for tight parking spots). (Hmmmm...... wonder which method will look better for the ladies wearing mini skirts )
If you're removing your crankshaft pulley and you don't have three M6-1.0 bolts long enough to screw your puller into the pulley, you can give your mirror a twist and borrow the three bolts from there.

Now that has to qualify as the most unique thing not known about a Mini, excellent McGyver analysis...
The rear suspension has the colors of German flag resulted from an assortment of international performance parts: black Swift spring from Japan; red Alta sway bar from USA; and yellow Koni damper from the Netherlands. Mini is multicultural too.

My R53 was born in the very last month there were being built (11/2006) and came with R56 wheel bearings from the factory.
I didn’t know this until ordering replacements the other day. Turns out they started building R53s with the the next gen bearings starting in July of 2006🙈

Yep. That’s why you have 14 mm lugs instead of the 12 mm lugs of all the earlier cars.
