After weeks of waiting we got the call that Checker had arrived at Mt. View.
Here he is looking out of the window for his new owners.

 

Checker was anxious to get motoring and he had nudged the door open.

 

Here we are with Checker. We are very pleased with how he looks, but we are wondering how the Space Blue color will look with after the Chili Red. I am wanting to checkout the gears and test the LSD.

 

Checker's nose stripe installation got missed. It must have been tea time. I found the seats really nice with the fabric inserts and leather sides and I thought the silver roof and flame wheels looked good. We weren't sure from the pictures.

 

Here we are ready to Motor.

 

Looks awesome! Was just commenting to my fiance how much I love the new Checkmate package esp. the seats... I think the fabric is much nicer than our Leather/Tartan Red cloth...

You will see Checker in SF for sure. His new home is in SF.
The rear seat is mostly fabric with leather trim. The fabric is metallic and feels durable, the leather had a plush feel. I like the seats way more than the standard vinyl ones in the 03 MINI.

 

WOOT another Space Blue with silver. If you see Synthia roaming around wave, she like's seeing all her brothers and sisters on the road

The dealer can get it and install it if we want. We asked the sales guy where the silver hood stripe was. He says it wasn't included. So we show him that the silver stripe is in all of the Checkmate pictures on the MiniUSA site. In the description of the Checkmate package on the MiniUSA site it says that the stripe is included. But then in another obscure place it says that it is only installed if ordered. But the only place to order it is as a $100 option. Seems like an oversight in the ordering system.

 

The silver bonnet stripe is included in Checkmate package. I did not specify the stripe because I knew it was included and mine came as MINI USA shows on site. Any way welcome to the Checmate club. Mine is a Hyper Blue Checmate JCW. I am across the bay.

I have an '03 IB/W. If I were to go out and order another it would be your checkmate edition. I love it. I think the blue with the silver and the complete package make it the nicest looking MINI on the road.

That car looks so hot.. That's the exact color combo I want. I am glad I finally got to see a pic of the checkmate pkg without bonnet stripes. Looks sweet. I'll be eventually joining the checkmate club too... I still haven't seen any on the road yet.
