Why Not Use Our Regular Screen Names?

Although I already signed up, I'm now wondering why no one thought of doing this here first. That is, why not use our own screen name? I mean, they're unique, aren't they? And, we chose them ourselves, not plucked 'em out of a list!

If we applied vinyl showing our screen name, it might identify the MINIac a lot quicker, no?

True... but then identification would be limited to NAM members only, as opposed to this system which might get more exposure to the MINI community at large...? I'm guessing that's the logic behind it.

You could do both. I was thinking of putting Bumble78 on the MINI. I am on three or four forums with this screen name. But I am not sure where I would put it.

Not necessarily. Many of us use the same screen name on MINIUSA, MINI2, etc.

Sorry if I sound like a party pooper, but the emperor's new clothes are not what many believe them to be.

okay okay okay...

1. We would then have to broaden the campaign to include MINI2 and MINIUSA so that they also knew to do this, and it would have to be coordinated.

2. MINIUSA can email this fantastic new idea to everyone who's set up an owners lounge account AND they can run the web-based clearinghouse that allows us to get in touch with each other when we see another MID on the road. Such that we all go to one place when we see a MID, as opposed to spending time perusing all the forums, trying to find the person we just passed on the highway.

When I move, I'm just putting my screenname on my license plate. Then i'll have both.

I do too... on my original car. And that's where it's staying... can't have the same license plate on TWO cars (in the same state anyway). And "EDGE 2" or "EDGE TOO" isn't what I wanted.

My tag is MOSKITO and my car's name is MOSKITO and my screen name on all forums is MOSKITO. On my drive thanksgivings drive to PA, I ran into another NAM regular who looked at my tag and immediately said are you "MOSKITO" on NAM? I really like that.

MOSKITO was not possible as my Motoring ID, so my motoring ID is actually Buzz777

Ok I have my MID on the back of Bumble. I hope I don't get a ticket because I went with Yellow instead of white. I think it stands out better with all the other writing than if it was white.

I can't believe they didn't let you see if something was available before assigning it to you... grrr...

I am now Lets123 (which is a reference to volleyball)

But my plates, for now the third state are NEKOWMN so I'm marked already with my most visible moniker

My MINI is named "Wicked Wanda," but her license plate is MINI CLO! I wanted other internet friends to recognize me by the plate. And MINIclo is my username on Roadfly's BBs and on MINI2, as well.

I figure if....

I put my NAM name above my NAM decal you folks will figure out who I am. If someone who is not on NAM sees it they can find me after all the URL is in the NAM decal.

looks good! Yellow rules. If I put the ID on it will be in red to go along with Bean's JCW stuff.

I am wondering how much these motoring IDs will actually be used.

It seems the more time goes on, the less other MINI drivers even wave. Also, it seems that the number of MINI drivers that participate on NAM is a minority. So why would any more make use of the MID? And so why would I think anyone would have any contact through the motoring ID?

Just wondering. Time will tell.
