By the way...on a convertible, if I am supposed to keep the top down all the time, where does the ID go officially?

Get it embroidered into the back of a MINI hat

It's a suggestion, then a countdown before I pass that bloated road behemoth carrying no passengers that's perpetually in my way.

Just secured mine:

CARVE408

For a MINI who lives in a South Bay Area canyon, this makes perfect sense (area code = 408).

Hey, in trying to select either the Ariel or Georgia font, I'd like to match the Actual Size one. Which font is that? Thanks.

That's a good idea, Tony. Hmm, maybe I'll see if I can change mine CURV831...

I was a little surprised others were not doing the area code thing...

Eric, hope to see you again at Laguna Seca in a few months!

Interesting - I thought the opposite. I wanted the lettering to be different so as to better differentiate the two items.

...but I don't know the answer to our question. When I ordered from AE, I guessed [that Georgia was different] and figured I'd just go with it either way.

My MID is placed!

Initially, I tried the "official" size and placement but the 2in. Helvetica is HUGE, and I did not like it. So I went with 1in. and placed it off-center, from the left edge of the top defroster line. I believe that I would like it more if it were beneath the wiper blade, but the arm apparently hyper extends when running and I worried that it would eventually tear up the letters. Placement of MID necessitated the removal of my US Rowing sticker from the rear left side window, but I didn't pay my dues this year anyway, so no big loss.

Moral of story: I recommend 1in. letters.

I'm FAST471. Birth month and year. Not terribly clever, but they don't give too many choices.

I agree with some of the other people here, I wish that we weren't limited to the preset names. I wish we could choose our own names.

I'm also not sure if I want such large letters/numbers on my car as MINI recommends. I feel it may clutter up the clean look of the car.

But with all the reservations I had I choose an ID anyway.

My ID is FLY888.

Somebody already took the one I really wanted, LUCK888
(8 is considered a lucky number for people of Chinese descent)

I was disappointed we couldn't write our own but I chose MPH112 because that is what I got it up to on the back roads of WI.
