Insulated Mugs

Can anyone recommend an insulated mug, and where to purchase, that actually fits in the mini cupholders? Preferably, something other than the 20 buck one the dealer is offering.

Much appreciated.

Most of the ones with small bases fit very nicely in the rear cupholder. You just have to practice reaching back to retrieve/replace it. I'd suggest going to Target or similar discount store and try out a few. . . .

MINI sent a lot of us a special shortened stainless steel cup that was meant to fit the front cupholders underneath the toggles. It barely fits though. . . .

You might want to call MINI-USA and ask them if they forgot to send you your cup and they might send you one. . .

Check out miniusa.com's accessories page. They have a new mug that comes on two sizes. But I do not know if they work with the cup holder under the toggles or just the add-on cones.

I just checked them out, and the only thing I could find was the discontinued MINI cup that doesn't fit in the front cup holders.

Over the weekend I swung thru a Starbucks and noticed that they had their holiday travel cups out. One of them looked about the size of a soda can (right size for the MINI) for about $7.00. It was ofcourse holday/Starbucks colored, and I'm not positive that it fits in the MINI, but I might make a trip in to see if they will let me take it out to the car and check.

Not really my ideal cup, but it's better then having to reach around blind to use the rear cup holder.

I'll post more if I find out it works.

FWIW .... I got one of those cups in my '02 welcome kit and did not get one in my '05 welcome kit. I'm guessing they left it out because most cups fit in the downtube mounted cupholder.

Yeah, probably.

However, that cupholder got removed the night I brought the car home. I currently have a phone cradle mounted there. It's just a matter of time before I find the right mug, but it is bit annoying... But hey, if that's my worst problem I'm golden

It takes about 6 to eight weeks. The kit has changed a little over the years. As mentioned the mug you used to get is no more... But you get some freeway bingo cards, some note cards and a big black rubber band, also a journal.
