Lack of interior storage space is one of my biggest beefs with the MINI. I have my garage opener in the front "cup" holder and toll booth change (I drive in NH, which will never adopt the pinko technology of electronic toll payment  Hopefully there will be some revisions in future iterations.

I put my CDs in the driver's door. I carry them in a soft case that holds 12. People who carry all their CDs must be looking to get them stolen. Think about it, 100 CDs is worth over $1000. You may want to buy this Cubby Storage from Moss Mini for some extra, convenient storage space for cell phones, clickers and other stuff.

I saw that in the catalog, and wondered if it'd be useful. It still may be hard to reach things that you put into the cubby (ala, the problem with reaching the inside of the door pocket...there's "stuff" in the way).

But the real question is how come MINI didn't think of something like this? Instead they give us an interior with no real storage space AND 8" of tantalizingly blank space that we need to spend $25 in order to make useful. What were they thinking? (or not).

The door pockets as well as the cubby-hole below the stereo seem useful.

Actually, I've found that the space just above the cup holders holds 5-6 Cd jewel cases very snugly! I couln't live without my MOSS motors glove box organizer. Worth its weight in gold. I use the strap on the sunvisor for toll tickets when I'm motoring on the PA turnpike!

I don't put anything bulky in the visor strap anymore. I did put something there once, a dental pick- a bit smaller in diameter than a pencil, and when it was removed the strap was all stretched out of shape, dangling. I thought I would have to cut it off. The strap eventually returned to it's original position thank goodness. Toll booth tickets or the like would be just fine to place there.

For the en route toll tickets, I have taken a page from the Unofficial Users Manual and I stick them in the dash "seam" to the left of the steering wheel. Works quite well!

Isn't that the craziest material? I had the same thing happen to me. But like the elastic man, it returned to normal after one night. I'm a bit hesitant to get that cubby organizer because I eventually want to put the Delphi XM unit in there. But I do place my CD organizer in that space. The only problem with that is, I can't get it out when I'm in 3rd or 5th gear. *Speaking of 3rd gear....150 POSTS!!!!

>>my CD wallet fits in the bottom middle slot on my glovebox organizer
>>btw: the glovebox organizer keeps everything from sliding out when i'm parked on that hill i call my driveway

I also have 2 of the MINI disc gear cases, I like em, they were a christmas gift, and they fit into the glovebox.

I use the door pocket to hold my gloves as they don't make any noise if they slide around and they aren't too bad to get out. I haven't figured out anything good yet for cds but I like the idea of the net behind the passenger seat or between the seat and emergency brake. I use the ashtray for quarters for the tolls. It's small but there is only one toll that I use that doesn't have the electronic payment. Of course now I need to get another box.

I was originally going to get another visor cd holder but when I got the MINI I realized it wouldn't have fit if I got one. Oh well.

Okay, here are my ideas. I'm a "make every square inch count" kinda guy.
I think I may buy the new saddle bags that MINI is selling for under the boot shelf. I'll never have the emergency triangle kit installed there.

    >>Thanks for everyone's ideas. I just found this product on a website. It's an organizer that fits under the control panels of the Mini. Has anyone bought one of these? It looks a little flimsy, so I'm not sure.

THe hot pocket is perfect...and if you have black interior it fades into the car...it is a must have as is the glove box organizer.

I use a Verbatim product called 'Trimpak' to store CDs in. They used to (might still, couldn't tell from the website) make a round version that make it the smallest possible packaging you can get (this is also very handy for carrying in a bag, etc). They are lightweight and clear. Without the jewel case, storing CDs in the door bin is just about okay. 10-12 in there, plus maybe a map to reduce the likelihood of them rolling around. And they don't scratch since they are soft poly, not hard plastic. It is not the ideal solution, but I haven't been driving enough to try anything else (which will probably end up being a soft sided Pantone CD holder). And for the designers out there, I find this is the best off the shelf way of delivering CDs. All our client releases go out in the square format shell.
