just talked to my dealer. Looks like I'm lined up to receive a production number next week. That will get The Green MINIlishi here mid January. Pictures will soon follow, but possibly not until I install my rims and grill. (I'll get the grill the same week as the car, but the rims may have to wait until my tax refund.)

 

Did i every get to show you the pics of the Purple People Eater right after it came off the truck?

I was there one of the days the MINI's came in on the truck, the car was probably sitting here for maybey 3 hours after it came off the truck.

Neat. She has changed since that day. She now has checkered silver bonnet stripes (I love them), chrome side vents with a clear cover, and she is about to get the orange light covers in front of the wheel replaced with clear. The purple color changes so much in different lights. The purple usually stands out a lot more than in that picture. I love the color.

I guess most folks have yet to receive their silver roof cars? I am curious to see what other people do with details (stripes, etc.......)

Is the silver stripe on your solar red painted? or is it vinyl? I like it

 

That picture is from a MINI display in Germany. The U.S. Solar Reds are just now showing up at the East Coast VPC. That stripe is the new stripe availabe from MINI with the silver roof starting with October production. It is vinyl, just like the other stripes from MINI.

Yeah, week 40 build. :smile: It's on a ship now bound for Port Hueneme. I should have it by the middle of November. :impatient

 

I odered last Monday and don't have a production number yet, so I will anxiously await some photos of your baby to hold me over until mine arrives !

 

I already have plans for the photo shoot. :smile:

So, is the silver color of the "silver roof" chrome like, or basically the Pure Silver body color like roof? Just curious.

 

The silver in the silver roof is Pure Silver.

 

like an exact match? It seems to have rather different reflective qualities to it. But it may just be the pictures.

 

yes,from what I have been told it's suppose to be Pure Silver. That said, I haven't had a chance to match paint codes up to verify it for myself yet.
