One of these days I'll post my Miles pictures up. It's been raining off and on in Seattle so I haven't had a chance to get good pictures yet.

NW MINI gives us calendars with pictures of the new owners in front of their cars. My MA, knowing how much of a nut I was through the entire thing, made it very clear: First 2006, first Space Blue there.

The purplish/SB colour is really nice and is a lot like how the purple haze was described, just with deeper blue. My SO loves it. I figure if it makes her happy, I can justify the car even more to her.

Now to save up money for another house, this time with a two-car garage!

Last night I went out with my flashlight to inspect the purple haze paint. I looked at it with light from different angles and figured out that it is an eggplant-like purple base color with blue reflective sparklies. This explains how it has the tendency to shift colors with different kinds of light.

The 03 MCS that I just bought is finally on its way after finding a new shipping company and it has a silver roof.

Woh! First Checkmate I have seen in the US! Nice

The weather has been so bad I havent put any pics up yet of Marvin, but I might this weekend (Sunday is supposed to be clear).

I too bought the color sight unseen and I have to admit I was REALLY nervous picking up the car, but once I saw it it was love at first sight. Now I just cant wait to drive the car all the time. Kind of proud to have a silver roof instead of white which at least for now is rare.

Boy, they sure put that airbag sticker in a nice inconspicuous spot that doesn't detract too much from the dark blue dash, don't they?

she does!

I attached it to the little string that lifts the boot shelf so it won't roll all over the place while motoring!

Thinking about a silver roof, but I haven't seen many yet. If you have one, post it here! Thanks!

Ooooh thanks for posting that !! The cooper in chili red/silver roof/silver bonnet stripe is the combo i've ordered and am still waiting for. So far the only thing i had to kind of guess what it would like is the computer generated one from the build your own mini tool .. which is okay but looks a bit strange .. The only silver stripe i'd seen was on a checkmate at the dealer so the car was blue ..

i've been looking for a pic of this for quite a while woohooo . you just made my day !

later, r

That's actually Solar Red / Silver. Solar Red has a very broad color range. It can appear to be anywhere form half a shade lighter than velvet red, all the way to being nearly Chili Red.

Actually, Chili Red/Silver was the first silver roof that I saw in person. It looked great.

solar is really an amazing color - as DiD says, the range in it is huge. Looks killer with a silver roof.

I was looking for either SB or CR for my wife. I found a CR/S, but I wouldn't have gone wrong with the SB/S, either. The only problem with the silver stripe is the black windshield washer nozzles.

Thanks guys Ooh ThreeAlarm has the sunroof too. I ordered that too because I like the aquarium feeling ! hehe . Someone on NAM had mentioned that getting a sunroof pretty much means a black roof because it looks more uniform but i really like this color combo so i thought it's worth the chances.

Good to see it *does* look great !! yey

My dealer had a solar red with a solar red roof that i saw on his lot. It was indoors and it looked very 'burgundy' .. More like the top picture from DiD, but the lower two pics look like a different color ! I wouldn't have guessed. It's pretty cool actually that the paint has that much range..

About the windshield nozzle thingies, the stripe is soo coool still .. hehe. My friend was asking whether I got the V for victory on the front of the MINI too when I showed him DiD's photos. yeh baby !

Once again, I am completely blown away by a MINI color option I do not have! It's great!!! I love my white roof and all, but silver is just so, so handsome and classy.

Well, I've been trying to talk my wife into considering a plain silver roof graphic like the the Aesthetic Creations "white out" roof (with perhaps some of the red chili peppers thrown in?), but the tinted sunroof looks good with the tinted windows, so it probably won't happen. We'll see once the Florida summer sun starts beating in that huge solar collector.

I consider myself lucky with the silver roof. The MINI was a Christmas present for my wife and I was looking for CR/W. Instead, found a CR/S on the lot(!!) with an options list that was almost perfect(!!), jumped on it and my wife likes the S roof better than the W. It helps to have a generous sprinkling of chrome with it, however.
