long as possible

I plan to hang with my 2005 MINI with LSD as long as I can.. I may consider buying something different if BMW ever sells a RWD car in USA that weighs less than 2800 pounds, though... or if they made the MINI as a RWD

I love my '03 MCS and have had zero major problems with it (knock on wood). However, I had a MCC loaner last month while I was in for service, and it made me realize how much I want one (heck, I've always wanted a convertible). It got me to thinking that maybe I'd sell Nittany later this winter and order a convertible to arrive in time for spring. But then I realized how much I LOVE my car. Eric from Helix even gave me a little lecture when he heard I was thinking of selling her. So after much debate, I've decided that I just can't part with her.

My plan now is to try to save money and order a convertible this spring. That means I need to sell a lot of bags this winter as well as going through my house and Ebaying anything I don't need/want anymore (or basically anything that isn't nailed down). I don't expect to pay cash for a new one, but I'm hoping to get the monthly payment waaaay down. Fingers crossed that all goes to plan.

It would be cool to finally be able to go through the ordering process since I bought Nittany off the showroom floor and always felt a little left out.

I'm coming up on my three year anniversary with Blubelle (Oct. 18th.) Can't say that I'd ever consider selling. My MCS is more like an heirloom, a pass it down to the kids type of vehicle. Think I'll just keep on motoring!

p.s. Still have my first car after 26+ years, so I know a thing or two about keeping vehicles around.

If God himself, were to tell me, "You can't drive the MINI past these pearly gates", there would difintely be a problem!

I think that this is a reasonable statement. At the moment, I have no intentions of getting a different car, for quite a while... However, it would be hard for me to say that I wouldn't trade up to some future version of my car, particularly if it maintained the same pefromance while being more environmentally friendly or efficient.

Hydrogen Fuel Cell JCW anyone?

Till my wife takes it from me. But fortunatly she always gives it back. As far as anyone else, unless it is totaled in an accident than maybe I will get rid of it. Maybe.

Hopefully I'll keep it forever!! I love this car and would be absolutely heartbroken to ever part with it.

I leased three other kinds of cars before I bought a mini. But the payments are skyhigh compared to leasing costs. I hope to keep it a long time though. ski

Sure payments are more, but you have the equity in the car, not the leasing company. And with the value these cars hold, you can't go wrong by owning one.

My '02 still feels new and special to me and felt like I would keep it forever and never trade it....I did'nt really consider it until I read some posts about terrific trades people were making. I was starting to look at numbers when I received an email from my dealership suggesting I get a trade appraisal and consider an '06. After getting the appraisal and specing out a new MINI I'm actually going to be lowering my monthly payments after 3 years of ownership and moving up 4 model years (02 to 06). I pretty much have to do this
