06 MCS arrived

After a 4 month wait, I picked up my MCS on Friday and have been enjoying every minute. Took it to the Nurburgring in Germany and took a lap around the track. What a rush!!! Here a couple pics!

Congrats on the new ride. Mine is at the dealer and should have it by the 3rd week in october. The Nurburgring is my favorite race track on my Xbox games. Driving on that track in real life would have to be on my top ten list of things to do in my life time. Could you elaborate more on your experience of your lap around the track? Thanks, Robert K. from Phoenix AZ.

P.S. If you ever go again, could you post some pics of the track.

All I can say is awesome. Of couse with only 200 miles on my car I didn't take it over 4500 rpm. My wife and son were in the car with me so I had to take it easy but even so there were a few blind turns that made me pucker a bit. My son and I race on Project Gothan II as well and the Nordsleife is pretty close. Here's a few pictures my wife took.

Congradulations on the MINI! Hope you enjoy it. I was at Nurburgring for Rock am Ring in 2001. I didn't get to drive on the track but had fun there. Three days of drinking and moshing.

Jealous as heck. I have been driving my Mini around the ring on GT4, but I am sure it can't come close to the real thing.

Congrats on the 06 and especially running the 'ring.

It seems everyone here runs the 'ring in games. Myself, I have been running a computer sim for the last several years and the 'ring is one of my favorite tracks.

Wow, jealous. Congrats!

The closest I'll ever get to the 'ring will be my MINI in GT4.

Thanks for posting your pics. My dad was in the Army when I was in high school and we were stationed at Torrejon Air Force Base just outside of Madrid Spain. Too make a long story short I had the privledge of seeing Mario Andretti racing the #5 John Player Special in 1977 at the spanish gran prix. Needless to say this started my present condition of being car crazy. I think it was either 77 or 78 that Mario ended up being champion. I still have the program I bought and a poster of him in the JPS. Nikki Lauda was at this time a very dominating driver and alot of the podium finishes were won either by him or Mario. Well I hope you make it back to the ring for a more spirted drive. I'll have to check Formula1.com to see if I'am right about my facts.

I hope to make it one more time before I return to the States in January. Uncle Sam decided to send me home. I'll be heading to Langley AFB VA and will be close to home for the 1st time in 20 years.

I need to complete my break-in before I try it again. 395 miles with only 900 to go.
