Lower grill popped loose

Hello all. I have posed this question to both Mini USA and Mini North Scottsdale with no help. We have a 2005 MCS and the lower center mount of the lower grill keeps popping out. According to our dealership that's just how they are. I have looked and the other 4 mounts seem to have a small metal retaining clip on the back of the mounts to prevent them from coming loose. Does anyone have an idea on how to get more of these clips or if there is another fix for this loose spot? I don't buy that I should have to go out everyday and pull the grill back forward so it doesn't look weird. Thanks in advance .

Mine used to do that a lot when I first got it. The dealer cliped it back in on the first visit, and replaced the grill on the second. It's not come out since, so I've a feeling they might of used glue.

I coincidentally noticed this on mine just yesterday - I was going to go pop it back in at lunch and see about reinforcing it.

Mine was popped out when I picked it up, and the lower valance was scratched. It appeared whoever washed it right before I picked it up pushed too hard on the lower grill, pushing it back - then tried to get it back in place by prying something under the lower edge, scratching up the lower valance in the process . They replaced the lower valance, and is hasn't popped out since. Of course, I am the only person who has washed it since and I take care not to push too hard on the lower grill.

It should not be popping out on its own. Take it back to the dealer until it is properly repaired - whether that involves replacing the lower grill, the lower valance, or both.

That's what I'm thinking happened with mine - I know it wasn't like that the last time I washed it, so I probably pushed too hard when I swiped over it. Even so, it should not have popped out from running a wash mit over it. It looks like the slot in the mesh is just a little too deep for the catch, or the catch is a little too flexible, allowing it to bend down and release. I'll just be more careful washing it, I can't see how it would come out on it's own.

Mine would come out on its own just from driving with out fail. I asked the dealer about it and he said "We'll pop it back on but that is just the way it is..." So one day i just got a little bit of super glue and put it on the clip as I pulled it back over and its perfect now. Even when washing I can apply pressure to the grill and remove the bugs and it stays clipped just fine.

Same here....I pushed too hard washing it. Since then, it'll pop out on its own, every couple of days I have to pull it back.

Yeah it took them 3 times and they finally put some glue in the clip (if you look at the clip from the side it is a v they put it in the center of the v to prop open the clip.
