Mystery Part?

As I was lowering the roof on my '05 MCSC the other day, this part popped off from somewhere and landed on the little ledge next to the back window on the driver's side (left side). The roof was almost all of the way down.

I can't find where it came from. Anyone know? It doesn't look like it broke off of anything (no raw edges), and is made out of black plastic. It looks like it fits over the edge of a window, but again, I can't find just where.

Help?

After a visit to realoem.com - it looks like....absorber/left or absorber/right (#14).
No idea what it is or what it does, but check this link, it may help you figure out where it goes. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Thank you, sir. I didn't realize that web site was there, and the problem is solved.

One good thing - the parts falling off are really a good quality.

Indeed.

And at $18.90, BMW / MINI are very proud of their parts.

Hey Rev Limiter...
I have to ask...is that your dog in the sig? I've been dying to know, does he actually eat the dandelion? That's an awesome photo..and brings a smile to my face everytime I see it.

That little guy is a Shetland Sheep dog, also known as a "Sheltie". Most people think of them as a minature Collie because they kind of look like a Collie, but they are a different breed. A Sheltie will try most anything at least once, hence the dandelion. I have told myself that I will always have a Sheltie by my side. Love the breed.

He / she is not mine. I found that pic on a Sheltie page, and thought it was so cute, I saved it. Probably a copyright infringement (sp?) here, but if you don't tell anyone, I won't.
