Been driving a stick for 25 years and didn't realize I've been "double clutching" the entire time. The process of making enigne speed match gear selection was a requirement when driving a 50 ton crane with a 13 speed transmission. Guess it just became automatic to "blip" the throttle when downshifting a car. Don't know if there is any benefit to double clutching a Mini but dang, it sure is fun.
Great job hudmg0kw! (you obviously didn't read this entire thread)
Blipping the throttle when downshifting is NOT "double clutching"....it's rev-matching. This is exactly the kind of information that confuses people.
