Morristown mini experience

Figured id say this just because:
got my mini in beginning of feb. needed a new flywheel once, now needs throw out bearing and other stuff... but i bought it and have it serviced at Morristown mini in NJ and they are great. Fast service with a smile, no probs having stuff replaced and they always have a 3series on hand as a loaner. They work completely around my schedule as far as starting stuff when they say, and finishing it when they say, and call me always to see how the car is after. Told the guy i was getting modded soon and was trying to get rid of any issues first. He understood and worked with me on that then guessed i was going to go to Helix and had good stuff to say about them and said they were awesome and did great work. Just with all the pain in the *** dealers out there, its nice to know I can do my thing painlessly and leave happy every time at this one.

Hey thats great. So you are saying that this dealer has no problem in installation of aftermarket parts in the mini, am I correct in saying that?? My dealer is Prestige Mini in Mahwah, NJ. At first they were good with me but later on they really did not turn out good. When my transmission went out after 32K miles, they really did not give me a difinitive answer as to when my car will be ready and they did not give me a loaner. So if Middletown Mini is that good I'll probably go with them lol.

If something brakes and you are modded you mean? im not sure cause i havent modded anything yet, but am about to. The guys just looked it over and checked anything i told them to. For instance, my tranny is really loud inside and outside shifting first to second, so i had them check it and put on the record same with my flywheel and clutch plate, its busted again but they cant blame mods if i get them cause it happened b4 mods, idk y im nice to it. That way if i come in with mods next week, they cant blame them. But if you blow you supercharger or something, Im sure they would make you pay for it, if your modded. but the service guy i deal with seemed to be into that kinda stuff personally and was talking about helix and stuff. The shop foreman is nice too ive talked to him a few times. But... once i start modding, we'll see what happens. The loaner car.. this will be my second one and i didnt even ask them for one, they just told me they'd set one up for me (even though i would have asked cause i need it)

i bought my car from Morristown, the sales staff was/is great. their service kinda sucked. i stopped going to them for service a long time ago (like a year now), started going to Westchester MINI in White Plains, NY, much better service. i have since gotten a letter from Morristown stating that they restaffed their entire Service department because of so many complaints from customers. glad to hear they're doing better now. by the way i know that the owner of Mo-town MINI is a BMWCCA member and he club races personally and that's why they're pretty mod-friendly.

I have never had a problem with Morristown Mini. They have always been upfront and their work quality has been fine.

Bought my Cooper from Morristown in Sept 04 and was very happy with them. Best part was that they threw in rubber floor mats and the aux input for nothin'!

re-staff

Must be time for another re-staffing at Morristown Mini Service department because we are in a deepening crisis. We bought an 'Executive' mini last year with <10,000 miles on it. "Executive" pre-owned was explained to me as 'driven by one of our staff' - this was in response to my concern about some newbie riding the clutch and grinding the gears. Sounds reassuring but wait for it....

Our first visit to the shop was 6 months ago. The service department tells us we need four new tires.

A few weeks ago the clutch started slipping. Since my wife works in Motown I asked her to drop it off for a look, but she didn't make the appointment right away. I called last Friday but the phone lines in service were all busy so the admin took my name and number and said they would call back. They never did. We finally get someone on the line who says they are all backed up and earliest they can do is next Wednesday.

My wife is getting frantic about the safety issues. So i call back again and explain the behavior again and try to get us moved up and btw we need a loaner. No, no, can't provide a loaner or better date until next Wednesday.

This morning my wife is driving to work and the clutch has about died and now the car is making a foul smell - something burning in the engine. I have to drive up to meet her in Morristown so we can drop off this dying vehicle, which is less than 2 years old. Not looking good.
