OMG - Test Drove an S - Total Obsession now!

Wow, still grinning from the Mini S test drive I had this evening. Before I was thinking about S or not to S, but now the answer is perfectly clear - S of course.

As all you already know the car is just like an extension of your body. I drove a regular mini on a long trip and thought it was pretty quick, but the S is just soooo much fun. Night and day. Cant wait to get one! Couple things to work out on the work end of things and then I will pick one up. Build I am thinking of is:

Black
Black letherette interior
White roof
White bonnet stripes
Premium package
Winter package
LSD
Front and rear fogs
Antrhracite intrior and headliner

Once I get it I will try and buy some 17" Slite wheels from the market place on this site. That way I could have all weathers for Winter and sport tires for the Summer.

OMG I am just bursting! What a great great fun car!

I test drove an S tonight too! How weird!

It was a blast to drive and felt very well put together. I'm definitely planning to go for an S as well.

I'm trying to keep price down so I'm not planning to add a whole lot of options. The only things I'd probably add are the sunroof and xenon headlights.

I can't wait until January when I order my car!

It's a sickness.... you think you're hooked on it now, just wait until it actually arrives! At the end of a long day, it's like a trip to the spa driving it home.... (or maybe that's just aromatherapy from the leather seats???) Funny, I don't mind my commute anymore.... and then there's the zen-like "wax on, wax off" that I never did with other cars.... sigh.

Get the rain sensing wipers too. It's worth it even if you have to roll pennies to get it!

Flav is right. You will have to change your color selection...unless you can find an unsold '05 in production as I recently did.

You really think so? I never even considered that as an option. I'll have to give them a second look, thanks!

Test drove one on a Sunday, had my deposit down on one by Tuesday afternoon. That was 9 months ago, and I still get a little thrill everytime I walk out to the garage and see Tillie sitting there waiting for me.

Reminds me of the way my girlfriend's dog used to start dancing by the door the minute you picked up the leash. "Okay!" she seems to be saying. "Where are we going to go today?"

Man, I love my car!

I have owned 2 MCS but my '05 is by far the best!

The S is the way to go IMHO!

PS: By all means get the "Convenience Package" because you'll get the Rain Sensing Wipers, Self dimming rear view mirror (A must), automatic headlights and the Homelink programmable remote control buttons (Mounted underneath the rearview mirror housing) to open garage doors, condo gate doors/barriers and even turn on the lights of your home from your car! Best $400 spent.

I think you meant you have to buy new to get what you want.

I think she might have meant she would need to buy used to get an Electric Blue S.

At least that's how I interpreted the Bumpassese.
