Strange subject I know but I did and watched some TV, sounds innocent enough but it had a bad effect. I guess another key was pressed against the mini symbol and for those of you like me that did not know that will make your windows go down. Well my living room is close enough to my driveway that the windows went down and guess what it was raining. The idea is great I just wish the sales person had told me or I wish I had read the manual. Guy thing mabey. Off that subject how do you add the little faces to your text?

Damn, that sucks. I'll keep that in mind from now on. Did the rain ruin your interior at all. I hope it wasn't leather!

To add the faces, just click on their symble under in the message body section of the submit page.

Hey,
Good advice...I don't think the 02's have that problem though.

What? Am I reading this wrong? Not sure if you are trying to say this wouldn't happen on a 02 or not but if that is the case, than yes you do have to worry about the windows rolling down if the MINI unlock symbol is being pressed down by mistake. That is if your feature in the computer has that turned on. Otherwise it is set to unlock and pop the hatch on the boot.

Sorry to hear about the rain in the car, I remember being in North Carolina in the summertime with a convertable top down and it started to rain. I didn't know it was also their rainy season. Oops. Hope all is well with the interior.

It's the same as us ladies with remotes in our purces! With out knowing it, something in your purce can push a button and BAM - you hear your garage door opening, or the lights in the entry hall are going on and off , yes, like a poltergist!!

I had the same problem with an alarm remote for my car a few years back. Kept setting it off by itself by having it in my pocket.
Hope the inards of your MINI survived the rain. How long before you noticed?

Also had the same problem, with a rental car. Dragging the suitcases into the motel room late at night and accidently set off the alarm.

I've got an '02 and the windows go down fine using the keys.

I don't sit around the house with keys in my pocket - so I've not seen this problem.

Well for those woried about the interior it faired OK I guess. I did not know it for an hour or so but luckly it was not that bad or a rain storm. I put kite boarding gear in my car anyway so it gets a little wet now and then. I would never have a daily driver that I worried to much about so I try not to let myself get too bent when stuff happens.

As someone who surfs, I passed on the leather because of the problem of saltwater on the seats. I've seen no damage so far and have not in other cars I've owned. One car I had for 12 years and looked fantastic the day I sold it.
