horn logo question

Somebody on a bike was about to dart out in front of me yesterday, so I really mashed on the horn to alert them to my presence. Afterward I noticed that the MINI logo in the center of the wheel (2005 3-spoke) had creased inward where the right wing joins the circle, and the tip of the right wing had popped out from its place. I was able to bend it back to an appearance that would probably be acceptable to all but the most obsessive car owner (such as myself), but I'd like to get it back to perfect (the car has only 700 miles on it!).

Does anyone know if this is a replaceable piece with a part number, or at least whether it can be easily popped out and put back?

Just one more reason for me to hate the new 3-spoke wheel. I don't think I'll ever get over how much worse the radio controls are.

Same problem here, but it's been like that from the factory. It's going in next week and that's on the list.

I had the same problem with my 05 MCS. But mine came like that from the factory. The dealer replaced it for me no questions asked. I did not bring this issue to them until a few weeks after i have owned the car.

Thanks! This will be number one on my list at the 10k service.

It's like MINI has a team of designers who sit in a room and think of the dumbest places to use flimsy materials.

Whats funny is that i did not notice this until a friend pointed it out to me. Thank god for other eyes to help you out on things you may have missed. I had a little curb rash on my rim when i picked up the car. I did not notice this until my friend later that day was looking over the car and wiping the rims down for a nice shine and saw that there was some rash. I know for sure it was either the dealer or during shipping. But I can not prove that so I am left in the dark.

I feel for you man. Those radio controls really suck compared to the old ones.

They are really great compared to most American (including mine) cars! I like the controls!

Nah they don't, they have bluetooth

Really though, i tried the older style ones and they were nice, but I like the way these look lit up. I can see why almost all manufacturers use the buttons on the top of the steering wheel for thumb use, esp if it has paddle shifters.
