R50/53 "CAR TALK" on National Public Radio Today!!!
This is the funniest radio show on the air --- 2 brothers calling themselves Click and Clack give pretty sound advise to callers re a range of automotive problems, while being hysterically funny. It's a must hear.
The last caller today was HARLAN of Northern Virginia, 6'6" tall and pondering the benefits/trade-offs of roof color selection (Black or White) especially related to summer heat for his upcoming Cooper.
It was discussed in length: resulting in the suggestion that Harland just get what he was happiest with in color combination, park in the shade and have fun. The Best Part was the rave reviews the guys gave the MINI -- "fun to drive, neat car all the way around, etc."
Hope HARLAN is a MCO member and will log on to say HI and let us know what he's decided. What a fun program -- Saturday mornings 10 - 11 EST., especially today.
Remarks anyone?

jds loves Car Talk...and their continual raves on the Cooper! This in spite of the fact we, and NPR, all know they're nuts!! Thanks for the heads up! I think the show you mentioned will be on here tomorrow...at least I hope so. I'll be sure to listen. The guys have a nice MC review on their web site, too!
Me and the hubby were listening this morning. Of course, once we heard the mention of MINI, hubby tried to turn up the volume and what did he do? He changed the channel! Argh! Fortunately he got back on track pretty quick and we heard most of it. Even though the brothers are nuts, I'm glad they're big proponents of the MINI.
Yes
I was listening while balancing the check book. They mentioned it earlier in the show too... something about someones MINI on staff and putting it into a snowbank or something. Then Harlan is the last segment of the show.

Hysterically funny show, especially when the caller is trying to describe the sounds their troubled car is making and the brothers try to diagnose the trouble by asking very funny questions...
BTW...the two brothers are MIT Graduates, incredibly bright engineers, that's why their show is based out of Boston on NPR....one of the best hours on radio !
I heard a few months ago a caller in about purchasing a mini with the automatic transmission and the 2 brothers described not only how it worked, but where, when and who invented the transmission and what other cars had used it...they both thought the transmission was a terrific engineering feat as well as raving about the fun factor of the mini....

Car Talk is great. Very funny and informative as well. I used to be a regular listener but only catch it occasionally these days. Glad I was listening yeaterday evening! (They broadcast it twice on Saturdays here in the Baltimore area). My sweetie said Harlan has a sexy voice and hopes he joins the Mid-Atlantic Mini club. I guess that would mean we're going to as well . . .
Peace (and don't drive like my brotha!)

Have listened to Click and Clack for some years now and love the show.
I'm hoping to catch it this morning, as it comes on at 9 AM Sundays on my local NPR/PBS station. I'm hoping it's the show you talked about, because it's not live when they broadcast it here.

Love Click and Clack!
It's fun to read even if you aren't looking... Some folks with no sense of humor don't get it, but the ones who do are a blast!

I heard the show this morning. Great to hear more kudos for our MINI.
For Bay Area listeners, fresh Car Talk shows are broadcast on Sunday mornings at 10 AM on KQED (88.5 FM). This show played on KQED today (1/19/03). Car Talk shows are repeated the next Saturday morning at 10:00. So you can hear Harlan next Saturday, 1/25/03 also at 10 AM PST. Harlan, the guy who wants a cool MINI top, is the last caller of the show so you can wait until about 10:45 to hear him.
The show is #303 and can be had on tape for those MINI obsessives among us. (What are you looking at me like that for?!)
Have fun.
