Have you ever MINI'd anybody?

Today, while parking at the local fine foods grocer (where our neighbourhood likes to show off its fancy cars) I parked between two rather large SUVs or vans (who can tell anymore?).

As I walked from my MCS to the store I looked back and noticed that because I had pulled up so far to the wall, the MINI was totally hidden from the view of other parker-wannabes.

I stood for a few minutes and watched what would happen. You guessed it!

12 SUVs or other larger-than-necessary vehicles stormed forward in the lot, thinking there was a spot. But, no!

They were MINI'd!

Happens all the time to me.
I sit in the car on the phone parked, the way we ALL should.
SUV's pull in the spot to find me already there.
One day a Hummer is going to drill me.

I have almost the opposite problem. Being the only MINI in town, no matter where I park I'm known and get the nicest responses from people everywhere I go.

When I park between cars - very rarely by the way, if someone try's to pull in and then sees me, they just smile. I always wait till they park and talk to them about my MCS, that they now wish they had.

I am definitely going to try this when I get my Mini this week. I have a thing about SUVs which I am trying to control. I have listened to too many stories about "Well, its the only car that fits our lifestyle." I really get angry when I walk my dog in the morning and many SUVs are running in their driveways with no one in the car to warm them up. What's wrong with a warm winter coat and being cold for five minutes? See, I am starting to go off again. I need my Mini to calm me down.

That's like every time I let my dad drive Dolly, (which is pretty often because he simply loves that car,) he'll be motoring down a road, go flying by some SUV, sports car...whatever...and he goes "ha! You've been MINI-tized!!" I had always heard that my dad was a little crazy in his late teens and early twenties, and now I'm seeing what he must have been like, because he is definately having his second go-round at "childhood" with my MINI.
