R50/53 MINI Service Questions, PLEASE HELP
MINI Service Questions, PLEASE HELP
Ok, let me get going here on my service experience. I know we all have out complaints and here comes mine!
I took my MINI in for service for the first oil change at 11990 milage which included the generic service (oil, filter, micro filer, wash fluid), no complaints, but no wash job.
I just picked up my MINI from the dealer again for my second scheduled service@ 35563 miles. Now they performed the exact same service. Does anyone know what the second service includes? I always performed my 30K service with a radiator flush, oil change, air filter change, brake inspection etc. I did not recieve this. Now, before I go off on my service rep, I would like to get some other opinions on what should be included on the 30K service. Thanks for listening to me complain. Any thoughts?

An update
I heard from the dealership, they're stating that the service was not completed, but the documentation in the computer shows the work completed. I am in the process of submitted written complaints to the BAR, BBB, dealership as well as anyone else who will listen.

Um. . .
Maybe I misundersood your post, but was the work actually completed or not completed? Did they do the work that was required but just not reset your service indicator? That should be an easy fix unless the dealer isn't being responsive.
Have you tried to work this with the dealer before you file all your complaints? Most dealers I've worked with are pretty good about keeping customers happy. Most - but not all.
Could you please clarify what was and was not done? I'm confused. . .

The service has not been completed. I asked to have the service one completed as well as a squeak in the right front suspension looked at/replaced. The dealership told me my vehicle was completed, I picked it up, but the squeak was still there. I contacted the dealership and they told me that the services were not completed.
I've contacted the dealer, they're being unresponsive and this has been the 3rd issue with the service department. The last two times service has been completed, I've had to pull teeth to get anything done. They do not even wash the vehicle the last two times

Thanks - that clears things up a little. . .
Squeaks can sometimes be hard to track down and fix, but if they admit they haven't even tried, you're within your rights to raise hell. I had a similar situation with a dealership here in Colorado once, and I know it's a miserable situation, knowing what you need done and having to deal with obstinance at every turn. . .
It got so bad for me that I drove the 65 miles to a dealership in Denver every time I needed service. Is that an option for you, visiting another dealer?

Yeah, I've made an appt with another dealership. The problem is, they all suck around my area... the next closest dealer is over an hour and half away... Many of my other club members have had issues with this particular dealer. I am getting fed up. Thanks for listening to my complaints

Sounds to me like...
traveling that hour and a half to another dealer might be less stress.
Oh and you really should read your manuals as they would answer most of your questions as to what gets done during maintenance. It sucks when folks won't even go out of their way a bit to help themselves. Of course that doesn't excuse lousy service and I hope it all works out well for you.
Another thing is most mini owners travel quite a distance for service so make that hour and a half into a nice drive. At a good dealership it'll make that single trip more worth while than a few short bad trips.
