...a little late, but....

I've learned from motorcycling just to avoid trailers, etc. altogether. Two weeks ago a Landcruiser towing a trailer lost the tailgate on the trailer. I was behind and to the left of him in Coop as this thing just LAUNCHED into the air!

Sorry to hear of the misfortune, and hope that the company does the right thing.

Oh, and those gravel trucks? Don't even get me started

Hey Lmini, put a piece of scotch tape over it. Usually, that is enough to stop it from becoming a crack that goes across the whole windshield. Won't fix it, but it will keep it from expanding until you can get it fixed.

What a drag. If it's cracked it has to be replaced. I guess the Mini windshields are more prone to getting rock chips because there is very little rake compared with most modern cars. The rake of a Lamborghini Diablo, or even a Corvette windshield, is so great most rocks are nearly parallel to them; so when they hit it's a glancing blow. Our Mini windshields get the full perpendicular force. Ouch! Some explanation huh? But I think it's true.

I don't think tape would work right now because it is pouring down rain...but I did think of that.

I am still hoping for a miracle and don't have to replace the whole thing. I really cannot afford to do that right now.

No I haven't been able to get into the glass place yet. It started snowing over the weekend and the roads in my area have been really icy so I have been trying to limit my travel to pretty much just work. Although I did have a friend of mine take a look at it who works on cars and he thinks it should be repairable without replacing the windshield. I will keep you all updated.

Never has my MINI been so dirty....even when I wash her she gets all salty 5 minutes later.
