Theres a few informal checklists floating around. I wrote this up for myself and thought I'd share. I'm obviously a bit eager.... Let me know if there are things that you think should be added, etc.

Very nice! I'm sure that lots of people can use this.

Just curious, how many people actually take a test drive prior to accepting final delivery of their vehicle? Sounds quite reasonable, but I suspect that in many cases asking for one would shock the sales person doing the delivery.

This is great - thanks a lot! I was going to ask if anyone had one of these, about a week or so from now, when mine will be at the VPC...

Great job!

Nicely done, I wish I had one of those when I picked mine up. You need to change "breaks" to Brakes.

Thanks. I hate those words that slip by the spell checker!

A complete list of the dealer programmable options would be a good thing to add to the list. As most dealers don't know all the options available.

Does anyone have a list of the programmable options. This would be an excellent addition. Good suggestion jack.

I copied this for myself from an earlier thread...

mini programming settings

for the owner by the dealership:

Your MINI center can provide you with details on the capabilities of the Vehicle Memory system.
Examples for Vehicle Memory:
>Signals an acknowledgement when locking or unlocking your vehicle
>Automatic locking after starting off
>Automatic unlocking when the parking brake is applied
>Selective central locking
First open the driver's door, then the whole car
>Automatic opening/closing of sliding/tilt sunroof
>Opening/closing windows and/or sliding/tilt sunroof via remote control
>Speed-dependent windshield wiper
>Automatic activation of windshield wipers on cleaning
>"Follow me home" lamps
Low beams light up for a short time after the engine has been switched off
>Locking when engine is running (with second key)
>Stop function of power windows on opening/closing
>Activating/deactivating daytime driving lamps*
>Switching on interior lamps via remote control.

Hope this helps.

That's pretty slick...where were you last week when I was reading from a cocktail napkin on which I scrawled my list with a sharpee!

The list you posted is great. However, I do have a question re: common issues
* what do you mean by the windows dropping a crack when opened ???
Taking delivery in 7-10 days.

MCS, IB/W, all packages, NAV, etc.

When you open the door, the windows are supposed to lower about a 1/4 an inch to stop that sudden blast of pressure when you slam the door. I've seen reports of this not functioning on some cars.

Thanks alot for doing the list .. it'll come in handy in a few weeks. I'm having a problem imagining myself doing a test drive, after waiting eagerly for so long, and finding something wrong. AARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!! But it's sensible as well as the other topics ..

Skvarcius: your pdf is crashing my reader, what's the deal. It will lock up my IE if I click it, and if I DL it, I can't open it.

Can you text file or post the listing?

thanks much,
Ryan
