This is where you post your suggestions for a good way to spend the $417.14 check that I got back. Obviously it has to be on Pip (just trying out a new name for her Haven't settled as of yet).

I think you might get 1/5th of a french bulldog for that price if you are lucky. Go for the British(English) bull. If you buy a female, they stay small (44 lbs) and they are a bit cheaper.

Or get a nice intake or pully installed.

I vote for the pulley, or ipod adapter, or bluetooth adapter to go with that phone you have been eyeing lately or some nice graphics for the car.

Speaking of Bulldogs. Heres my Bubba, but he was 4 times and then some of that amount. Just saw a chance to show him off.

I already got the intake. Went the HAI route. That was freaking dirt cheap. $35? Can't beat that. Got the new wheels. Posted some pics over in the "Show me your wheels!" thread. Where would I see the best improvement?

Good lookin' dog! How's Bubba with kids? strangers? (PMs are great, if you fear this is a thread-jack!)

$1600 to $2000 for a dog? Last time I looked you could buy a decent horse for that. I thought people were getting them from the shelter. Sorry for the overpriced recommendation. I withdraw the French Bulldog from consideration.

BTW how did you get MINI to refund you $400 in the first place?

Call Randy Webb and get a 15% pulley & if you install it yourself that will leave you enough for a Whalen **** or a swaybar.

A 15%er does pique my interests... Perhaps even a 17% or 19%. I don't plan on really tracking this car. If anything it may get auto-xed some time, but I haven't done that for a few years now. How hard are these installs on my own? I'm pretty handy when it comes to working on cars. I just haven't looked at what's involved. Last pulley I changed was a crank pulley on a '99 Saturn (my old auto-x car).

Any thoughts on the short shift kit for the '05 yet? What will the Whalen do for me? Also the swaybar could be schweet. This is the worst part about extra $!

It is from a couple of months ago when I bought my MCS and traded in my '03 Element. The payoff was $10,600 (well, slightly less aparently). I didn't have the paperwork so MINI said $11,000 was the payoff and that I would get a refund check for the difference. So now here I am with this $ bring a hole in my pocket! Even though it was $ that I paid in the front end, It was $ that has been out of my hands for long enough that it is like getting it now for free

Oh. In that case perhaps you should take YuccaPatrol's advice--at least until you have attended a couple of MINI meets or gotten together with other enthusiasts to see which mods really appeal to you.

Rear Sway bar and put the remainder towards new rims for your Mini.

Also wondering how you got some $$ back from Mini. Did they screw up your car while in production or something to that effect?

ALTA Rally light bar! If I had 400 bones on my desk right now that would be my first choice!

SWAY BAR!!! if there's one thing imperfect about the MINI's handling, it's understeer! and if you're as handy as you say, a 15% pulley is a niiiiice addition.
