Just curious on what kind of haul everyone makes to their dealer when it comes time for service? I have my '05 MCS ordered though a dealer in St. Louis, MO, and live in Anna, IL. This is about 30 min. south of Carbondale, IL, home of Southern Illinois University(I'm don't attend), and about 155 miles away from the dealer. This was closest for me, as opposed to driving to Chicago, Memphis, TN, or Indianapolis. So how far do you go to own a car like the MINI? By the way, this will be my only car, and will be daily driven a minimum of 60 miles per day.
I have 3 dealers in proximity to my house. One of them is 10 miles south, the other one is 4 miles north and the one were I bought my MINIs is 30 miles north.
I consider myself fortunate in that I live only a few miles from both Crevier MINI and Irvine MINI - about five miles in either direction from my house.
No idea on the mileage, but roughly an hour. Maybe more in traffic. On ordinary service days, I don't really mind. I like the trip and just make someone come with me and we make a day out of it.
When I had to order a new key and just need to get it programmed.. takes like a minute... and their service department isn't open on Saturday and I'm in class Mon-Fri I mind a whole lot.
Please don't hate me, but I have 3 mini dealers with in 12 miles of my home. My dealer Univeral City Mini is 8 miles. On the down side, in LA traffic it can take a week to go 8 miles.
I used to live next to the dealer back in 2002. I saw the first MINI in person from my deck. I can see MINI dealer parking lot from my bedroom window. That's how I got my love at the first sight.
