This is about 30 min. south of Carbondale, IL, home of Southern Illinois University(I'm don't attend), and about 155 miles away from the dealer. This was closest for me, as opposed to driving to Chicago, Memphis, TN, or Indianapolis. So how far do you go to own a car like the MINI? By the way, this will be my only car, and will be daily driven a minimum of 60 miles per day.
Fred
We live in Twin Falls, Idaho. The nearest dealer is in Murray, Utah (a suburb of Salt Lake City). It's about 240 miles (4 hours) one way.
Last week I drove down for a warranty repair (paint peeling on the roof). They took our MINI, gave me a rental car, and told me to come back in three days. I drove home, then returned, and brough the MINI home.
Total Drive Time for this warranty repair: 16 hours.
Total Drive Distance for this warranty repair: 960 miles.
I started to count up how much it cost us to get the repair done under warranty, and realized that it would actually have been cheaper (including lost work time, mileage, and gas) to have the repair done at our own expense locally.

Wow - you guys are truly MINI insane. I would never buy a car if I had to worry about a 300 mile trip!!! I mean, I know it's a MINI but jeez, it's just a car! Crazy kids
I approve wholeheartedly
I've got easily 3 or 4 dealerships within 20 miles.
LA is good for something, it turns out.
I can't wait to get out of this damn city

So 40 Miles and i am not the crazy one.
People always ask me why did you buy a car so far away, and by the looks of things i am not far at all. 400+ miles, you must be the only MINI in three states
.
But i live in truckville, so thats why.
Infact, most people do not know what it is!
I tell them , i like to drive but it does rack up the miles
