I didn't see a color poll posted and I was curious to see what everyone's favorite and least favorite color is? Everyone has a preference but I'm wondering what the majority thinks!

Of course I have 9 but my favorite I think is 8. I got the orange because we were impatient and it was available to take home the day we test drove. My least favorite I think would be between 5 and 12...

 

5 or Liquid yellow for me of course. It draws attention and I didn't have to pay for metallic paint. My least favorite is probably british racing green. But even that color can look stunning in the right light.

 

I tend to like Purple Haze and I think Pepper White is to common in all cars.

I like Solid Gold best. but thats my .02

Partial to the stealth look of the Dark Silver, but also like Liquid Yellow, Chili Red, and BRG. Or Black. Or Hyper Blue. . .well, you get the drift. Any color works as long as it's on a MINI. . .

 

I have a Chili Red MC but my favorite color is Dark Silver:smile:

Kidding aside, LY is the only really bright (what I would call a "visibility) color. After renting a Lotus Elise for 24 hours, I realized that having a highly-visible color on a small car was probably a very good safety feature. It helps the towering SUVs spot you in the lane next to them, etc.

Also, since my MINI is primarily for fun, LY is the ideal choice. (Electric Blue would have been my second choice, if available on a convertible.)

"Hot" Orange would have been my choice, if it had actually turned out to be either hot or orange... Very tantalizing disappointment with that one.

Least favorite is a tie: Chili Red and British Racing Green. (I know, it's blasohemy - forgive me, mea culpa!) Anyway, both of these colors remind me of the early 20th century paint jobs they used to put on trucks because the pigments were sturdy. I've never liked "blood" reds, and the BRG, though classic, is just hard to like.

#1.5 is indi blue and white. I CAN'T believe they nixed IB.

 

My favorite is what I have. BRG/B. Pronounced in MINI terms, Bavarian Racing Green as it is not a true British Racing Green.

Liquid Yellow or Indi Blue would have been my second choice.

 

They killed 2 of the best colors ever made for MINI's, Indi Blue and Velvet Red. If I had known that VR would only be made for 02 and 03, then I may have considered it. I rarely see VR anywhere! The color has definitely grown on me. I never thought it would look good on a MINI, but maybe because it is so rare I have grown to like it more. My wife wants to get a used MINI in VR with tan leather interior.
On the other hand, when my IB is clean it is stunning. I don't regret my color choice for a second! I have a theory on the color though...

My dad has a 99 Miata 10th anniversary edition, and the color is as close a match as possible to IB as you can get. Mazda only made that color for the 7500 Miatas that they packaged and sold as 10 AE's that year. 3100 in the USA, 7500 around the world. Very cool.

Do you think Mazda had a "copyright" or something on the color, and as a result MINI was forced to discontinue the color because it was so close? I can't believe MINI would discontinue such a popular color, but I'm glad they did!

Anybody have any idea why IB was discontinued? Maybe it cost too much to produce and apply...I dont know...

 

I would not say that I have one favorite or one least favorite. In fact, for me it even depends on if you are talking hardtops or cabrios. I would say my favorites are PS, DS, PW, CR and least favorites are HO, CB, PH. HB is nice but there are just way to many HB MINIs.

 

I think they should bring back Velvet Red for the convertibles - it would be great as a special edition with tan top and interior.

My first MINI was an '02 Cooper - Black over Liquid Yellow, bought off the lot - had it for six months while my S was being built, which I wanted in White (much cooler in the summer!) over Liquid Yellow....

Absolutely - that would be an AMAZING combination for the droptops. . .man, I can just picture that. . .nice. . .

 

Favorite is CR/W, close second is LY/W.

Least favorite would be Purple Haze or either of the Silvers.

 

I like CR/W the best (classic racing colors) with PS/B or PS/PS as my 2nd favorite. I like most of the color combinations a lot and I think all that variety is one thing that makes the MINI so cool. If I had to pick a least favorite, I'm not a big fan of soild gold or the purple haze.

 

My car is pure silver/black, but only because I bought it used.

Were I ordering a car today it would be purple haze, hyper blue or liquid yellow.

Least favorites are BRG and Red.

 

Interesting how people's opinions are all over the board - some people like one color and hate another, but someone else likes (or hates) both. I, too, bought my DS/B used and didn't have a choice (well, I could have NOT bought it - not likely!) but that color combo is still one of my top 3 favorites.

2) Chili Red & 5) Liquid Yellow for my favorites ... Since I have Chili Red now & Liquid Yellow on order.

4) Pure Silver & 7) Dark Silver for least favorites ... I actually like these colors, but they are everywhere. All the MINI meets I've been to, you see more of them then any color, their are more Silver cars on the road and it is too much.

 

My MINI is Dark Silver but I think my favorite color is Bwitish Wacing Gween

 

The color which has lasted the test of time (gets better with time like fine wine and...nevermind ) and... will never be discontinued:smile:

You must be talking about Pepper White!

 

I love my Dark Silver and Black. Though, if I had to choose again I'd go with BRG and white, Chili Red and Black, Liquid Yellow and Black, or Jet Black all over.

I do think the DS/B looks the most serious of the combos. I'm not a huge fan of the gold, orange, or the purple.

 

I'm just the opposite. I really wanted Hot Orange, but didn't want a convertible. I bugged MINIUSA every couple months with the question: Will Hot Orange be available in a hardtop in 2006??? I would have waited, but got no firm answer from MINIUSA. One response was "buy Pepper White and have it re-painted..." I couldn't believe MINIUSA was telling me this... So, not willing to wait any longer, I bought Hyper Blue. I did seriously consider Pepper White, Liquid Yellow, Gold, Purple Haze, British Racing Green. Color was my hardest decision... My roof color went from initially being dead set on black to white about three weeks before I ordered.

In answer to my favorite: 9) Hot Orange; 8) Hyper Blue; 11) Pepper White

 

My favorite color is 9 (Hot Orange), followed by 10 Cool Blue and 2 Chili Red.

I am getting a little crazy as the Resolve is scheduled to dock Friday or Saturday 4/8 - 4/9 and my mini is on it. Less than 1 week to home I hope.
