You do not know me so how can you say I'm a hater.
If other people did not say anything but "hey what a great thing you did"
then how can you have a discusion that people can be passionate about.
There is always another side to everthing.

Thanks for that enlightenment. I shall use the term on my Subaru owning friends. I bet they have never encountered it before. They don't about NAM.

The best learning I ever did was following a 57 Alfa racer around. 130 HP and I think it's torque number was negative , but the driver held what speed he had through the turns, and cut a perfect line. Cars much more powerfull couldn't even pass him because he held his speed through the turns. I just stayed behind him to learn the track. It was a wonderful experience.

nice job onasled! being that we have similar mods, it's particularly good news as far as I'm concerned...

Even if your MCS is further from stock than the STI, the way I see it, given the 10k delta in MSRPs, you have some play money there to make it dollar-for-dollar more equal .

Enjoy!

Does this mean I can't post about how I totally PWNED a rocket ship taking off towards Saturn?

I mean, distance aside, I totally just killed that foo!

and haven't any of you people watched initial D? That'll teach you a thing or two about... umm... what a group of people think about a group of cars on a group of roads on a group of islands called japan.

I would not at all doubt the story by onasled. Instead of being senor combative about it (like a certain randomly distributed clump of people), it would be much easier and IMO more productive to say "However, it would be just as (if not more so) believeable if the end result was different, and the seemingly much better equipped (for the track and racing) Subie was the one who consistenly 'won'".

But then again. It's more fun to argue about who pwned who.

The nickname is actually Scooby or Scoobies. But hey if you want to say Snoopy who am i to stop you. Just be ready for alot of weird looks and stares hehehe.

onasled,

How do you like the Willwoods? I'm dying to get them for my MCS as i think the stock brakes are horrid ( i used to have an SVT Focus and i'm spoiled). How do they stand up when you track them? Do you push them hard? Any fade? How do the pads hold up? Do you swap pads for the track?

If i'm thread jacking at all then we can move this to PM's.

Thanx!

What I have are the TCE Wilwoods.

At this point I can not recommend them as I've been having some issues. We are trying to weed these out, with little help from the manufacturer, and to try and pinpoint the problem. We have not absolutely ruled out that it is not in fact the brakes, but being that there are problems, I can't stand behind them yet.

As far as on the track, I was very pleased. They are quite powerful and they really allow me to go deeper into the corners before braking them many cars out there. I would recommend any BBK for this reason alone. The reason I went with the TCE was the larger rear rotors.

I do hope to know by the end of this coming weekend just what the problem is, and I will report on it here on NAM.

Would you be willing to discuss what the problems are? If not here in the thread maybe in a PM?

Todd is a great guy and i know he would work as hard as he could to help you with any problems. Good luck, can't wait to hear more on them once everything is cleared up.

This has not been my experience.

I do want to be careful, because the verdict on the problem is not out. I don't believe in publicly giving negative feedback on anything or anyone unless I'm 100% sure of my facts. Also, if we find it is in fact a problem with the TCE kit, I am hoping that the manufacturer will stand up and take care of the problem.

It's not that something is wrong that would anger me, it's the customer support, or lack of that would. I had a roll bar built for me by Built-By-Bones, out in Col. It did not fit correctly, and within a week they had a new one at my door, no charge, and actually discovered that they had made a mistake. Total stand up guys and at this point I would recommend them as highly as I could, even though the first bar was faulty. The fact that they where just all over me, making sure I was satisfied, was HUGE with me.

Having both of the cars in question and also having a large amount of seat time in e36 & e46 M3's the driver of the STi must have had little experience. No way possible the Mini could hang with either car in capable hands. Shows that you the Mini driver do have some skills.
