Picked up my new MCS, LYW/black top, Prem, Sport, w/ Nav last weekend. Cheated a little, had planned on ordering back in July 02, mind said yes, age said no. But spent restless nights knowing, dreaming about getting back in touch with motoring for pure pleasure.

Soooo...called around, found an excuse for a road trip and pleaded with the dealer to not sell it off the lot until I got there. Haven't enjoyed a car as much as in days of youth with the bmw 2002.

What a pocket rocket! For those that have taken the plunge, now can fully understand why it was the right thing to do. For those waiting, do it!, there's just no other car like this on the market.

Happy Holiday's to all. Be safe out there and cut the old man some slack, I feel young again, Let's motor! :

Depends on what you mean by old.
If you are really old we may cut you
some slack.

Good for you. Age is just a state of mind.

By the way I am 50 and do not consider someone old unless they are over 65.

Congrats Chip and welcome to the forums, I also had a BMW 2002 that I owned for 5+ years and enjoyed the sound of the engine and the fun I had driving it I never even put a radio in it.

When I test drove the MINI I immediately flashed back 30 years to my Bimmer and knew I had to have it !!

It does make you feel young again, I haven't had to scan the roadside for radar or looked in the rearview this much in years !!

 Motor On !!

I agree. Growing older is mandatory, growing up is optional!!

65+ is not old, just experienced.

I'm 60 and I think old is 80. Though when I'm 70 old will be 90.

Nothing like a MINI to keep you young.

Welcome to the madhouse, Chip!

Age doesn't matter....it's your state of mind that does.

(I am 24 going on 12....)

Ah Youth! The second car I bought new was a 1967 Mini Cooper 1275 S (and I still have one) [the first new car was a 1965 Triumph Spitfire], Funny thing is that I am NOT an anglophile but I now have two Land Rovers and Two Minis! The best offroad and the best on!

So I am almost 60 but drive like 90 (MPH not age!). Funny thing is that I believe that my 67 Cooper 1275 S is faster than my 03 MCS at least in acceleration from the gitgo NOT in top speed, I guess I'll have to actually time them to see. But right now the 67 is being cleaned up and I want to paint it from the faded blue and white it is to an Indy Blue and white to match my 03.

Now if I can find another 30 or 40 hp for the 03, I'l be a happy old man!

Lee

SENIORS...............WATCH OUT!!!!
A senior citizen was driving down the freeway, his car phone rang.
Answering, he heard his wife’s voice urgently warning him, “Herman, I
just heard on the news that there’s a car going the wrong way on
Interstate 280. Please be careful!”
“It’s not just one car,” said Herman. “It’s hundreds of them!”
